Nathalie Du Pasquier
Nathalie Du Pasquier (born 1957) is a Milan-based artist and designer mostly known for her work as a founding member of the Memphis Group. Her early body of work includes furniture, textiles, clothing designs and jewelry in addition to iconic work in decoration and patterns. Since 1987, she has consistently dedicated herself to painting. Early life Du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux, France, in 1957. Du Pasquier drew influence from her parents. Her mother was an art historian, which gave Du Pasquier an appreciation for classic art. From 1975 to 1977, she traveled through Gabon and West Africa, and in 1979 she moved to Milan. Du Pasquier drew influence from African art and music. Jérôme Pasquier (courtier)
Jérôme Pasquier was a French servant of Mary, Queen of Scots, involved in writing and deciphering coded letters. Working for a captive queen Pasquier is recorded as a groom of the chamber to Mary and master of her wardrobe. The other grooms were Bastian Pagez and Hannibal Stuart. He was described as "young Pasquier". Adam Blackwood described him as "''commis et argentier''", a clerk and treasurer or purse keeper. The French ambassador also called him a steward or ''argentier''. On 20 March 1586, at Chartley, Pasquier and Bastian Pagez witnessed a document in which Jacques Gervais, Mary's surgeon, placed his affairs in the hands of Jean de Champhuon, sieur du Ruisseau, a brother-in-law of Mary's secretary Claude Nau. Pierre Pasquier (14 September 1902 – 1986) was a French violist. Born in Tours, Pasquier was a student of Maurice Vieux. He obtained his first prize in viola in 1922. He founded the trio Pasquier with his brothers Jean and Étienne, as soon as he came out of the Conservatoire de Paris, in 1927. At the same time, his career as an international soloist was complemented by that of an orchestral musician and music educator. Appointed a professor of chamber music at the Conservatoire in 1943, he trained many students who distinguished themselves by their exceptional musical sense. Régis Pasquier
Régis Pasquier (born 12 October 1945) is a French violinist from a family of musicians. His father Pierre Pasquier (1902–1986), a violist and his uncles Jean (1903), a violinist, and Étienne (1905–1997), a cellist, had founded a string trio, le Trio Pasquier. His brother Bruno Pasquier is a violist. Biography Born in Fontainebleau, Régis Pasquier was a student of Zino Francescatti, with whom he latter recorded the Concerto for Two Violins by J.S. Bach. Étienne Pasquier
Étienne Pasquier (7 June 15291 September 1615) was a French lawyer and man of letters. By his own account he was born in Paris on 7 June 1529, but according to others he was born in 1528. He was called to the Paris bar in 1549. In 1558 he became very ill by eating poisonous mushrooms and took two years to recover. This compelled him to occupy himself with literary work and in 1560 he published the first book of his ''Recherches de la France''. In 1565, when he was thirty-seven he became famous after giving a speech in which he pleaded the cause of the University of Paris against the Jesuits and won it. Étienne-Denis, duc de Pasquier (21 April 17675 July 1862), ''Chancelier de France'', (a title revived for him by Louis-Philippe in 1837), was a French statesman. In 1842, he was elected a member of the Académie française, and in the same year was created a duke by Louis-Philippe. Bruno Pasquier (born 10 December 1943 in Neuilly-sur-Seine), is a French violist, the son of Pierre Pasquier, also a violist. Biography After a First Prize at the Conservatoire de Paris in 1961, Pasquier won the ARD International Music Competition in 1965. From 1965 to 1985, he was first soloist in the Paris Opera orchestra and subsequently, from 1985 to 1990 at the Orchestre national de France. Since 1970, he has been teaching at the Conservatoire de Paris, first as assistant to Serge Collot, then as viola and chamber music teacher (since 1983). Edme-Armand-Gaston, duc d'Audiffret-Pasquier (21 October 1823, in Paris4 June 1905), known as Gaston Audiffret-Pasquier, was a French politician and member of the Académie française, Seat 16. He was preceded in his position by Félix Dupanloup and succeeded by Alexandre Ribot. Life He was the grand-nephew and adopted son of Baron Etienne Denis Pasquier, an academician.
