Armament Research And Development Establishment
In India, the Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) is a laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Located in Pune, it is the main DRDO lab involved in the development of conventional weapons, conventional armaments. History The Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) was established in 1958, with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in the field of armaments. ARDE started working from a rudimentary facility within the campus of Ammunition Factory, Khadki of the Ordnance Factory Board. Personnel were drawn from the erstwhile Technical Development Establishment (Weapons) located in Jabalpur and Technical Development Establishment (Ammunition) at Khadki of the Indian Ordnance Factories. Pashan is suburb of Pune, India. It is located off the Mumbai-Bangalore national highway, by-passing Pune city. Pashan road serves as the main approach road for Mumbai-Pune expressway. Chitradurga Aeronautical Test Range
Aeronautical Test Range (ATR), Chitradurga is an out-door testing and evaluation facility set up by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) exclusively for unmanned and manned aircraft. The ATR is under the command of the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE). ATR, Chitradurga is located at Varavoo Kaval in Challakere Taluk of Chitradurga district on a 4,290 acre plot. The land was bought by the Ministry of Defence from the Karnataka state government for Rs.12 crore (Rs.120 million) in a deal negotiated in 2008. The project was set up with an investment of Rs 1300 Crores. ATR, Chitradurga has a Range Control Centre (RCC) with air traffic display system. Ramgarh Test Range
Ramgarh Test Range is an out-door testing and evaluating facility of Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL). It is spread over an area of 5500 acre of land and is located at village Ramgarh, District Panchkula, Haryana, 22 km away from Chandigarh. Ramgarh Test Range is divided into a number of technical zones/trial areas. The Tandur Test Range is an outdoor trial field being built by the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the development of electronic warfare systems. Location It is spread over an area of 8000 acres of land. It is located in the Tandur district of Telangana, 135 km away from Hyderabad. Machilipatnam Test Range Project
Machilipatnam Test Range Project is a missile test range facility being built by DRDO of India. As of 2012 the project is proposed to be set up at Gollalamoda village in Nagayalanka mandal of Krishna district near the coastal town of Machilipatnam. The project requires over 260 acres of land with an investment of Rs 1000 Crores. The defence minister of India, Rajnath Singh, attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the range on August 26, 2019 along with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The facility is projected to be a full-fledged testing range to support both short-range and long-range missile missions.
