The United Sarawak Party (, abbreviated PSB) was a multi-racial political party based in the state of Sarawak. History 2014–18: Formation as United People's Party (UPP) The party was initially founded as United People's Party and officially launched on 17 August 2014 as a new symbol of change and unity for the Chinese community of Sarawak with its headquarters based at Kuching. The UPP was actually a splinter party of Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) set-up by the Second Finance Minister for Sarawak, Wong Soon Koh along with his supporters following a leadership tussle of the party then and it started as a pro-Barisan Nasional (BN) political pact. The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (abbreviation, abbrev: GPS; English: Sarawak Parties Alliance) is a Sarawak-based national political alliance in Malaysia. 2018 Malaysian General Election
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday, 9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018, five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013. In an unprecedented victory, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, which had been the country's federal opposition prior to the elections, won a majority in the Dewan Rakyat together with the Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN), with PH and WARISAN together winning 121 seats. ''Malaysia Today'' is a Malaysian news blog founded in August 2004. Founding ''Malaysia Today'' was launched about two weeks before Anwar Ibrahim's release from prison on 2 September 2004. Once Deputy Prime Minister Anwar fell from grace after his action during the 1997 Asian financial crisis and was sacked by then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. Raja Petra, the webmaster of the Free Anwar Campaign website, decided to create ''Malaysia Today'' as part of a "Free Malaysia" campaign shortly before Anwar's release. Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu ( abbrev: PBB; ) is a political party based in Sarawak, East Malaysia. It is currently the largest multiracial and bumiputera's political party in Sarawak. Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu was formed from the combination of three parties in Sarawak; Parti Negara Sarawak, Barisan Rakyat Jati Sarawak and Parti Pesaka Anak Sarawak.
