Parliament Of Poland
The parliament of Poland is the bicameral legislature of Poland. It is composed of an upper house (the Senate) and a lower house (the Sejm). Both houses are accommodated in the Sejm and Senate Complex in Warsaw. The Constitution of Poland does not refer to the Parliament as a body, but only to the Sejm and Senate. Members of both houses are elected by direct election, usually every four years. The Sejm has 460 members, while the Senate has 100 senators. To become law, a bill must first be approved by both houses, but the Sejm can override a Senate refusal to pass a bill. On certain occasions, the Marshal of the Sejm summons the National Assembly, a joint session of the members of both houses. It is mostly ceremonial in nature, and it only convenes occasionally, such as to witness the inauguration of the President. Union Of European Democrats
The Union of European Democrats (, ; UED) is a liberal political party in Poland. It is led by Elżbieta Bińczycka. It was founded as a merger of the Democratic Party – demokraci.pl and "European Democrats" in November 2016. It joined the parliamentary group of the Polish People's Party in 2018, and later participated in the upcoming elections under the European Coalition and the Polish Coalition. Ideologically, it supports principles of liberal conservatism and social liberalism, and also advocates for a more federal European Union. In parliamentary system, parliamentary democracies based on the Westminster system, confidence and supply is an arrangement under which a minority government (one which does not control a majority in the legislature) receives the support of one or more parties or independent MPs on Motion of no confidence, confidence votes and Government budget, the state budget ("supply"). Anna Górska
Anna Górska (née Lemańska; born 17 July 1980) is a Polish political activist, political scientist, journalist and politician. She is a senator of the 11th term. Early life and career Górska was born as Anna Lemańska on 17 July 1980 in Elbląg, the daughter of Wiesław Lemański and Urszula Lemańska. In the 1998 local elections, Górska unsuccessfully ran for councilor of the Gmina Papowo Biskupie on behalf of the Młodość election committee. Magdalena Agnieszka Biejat (; born 11 January 1982) is a Polish politician and translator of Spanish-language literature. She was a member of the Sejm for Warsaw I (parliamentary constituency), Warsaw I between 2019 and 2023, when she was elected to Senate of Poland, Senate for the List of constituencies for the Senate of the Republic of Poland, 45th district (Western Warsaw). Wojciech Konieczny
Wojciech Jan Konieczny (born 30 September 1970) is a Polish physician and politician, member of the Senate since 2019. Political activity He graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in Zabrze. In 2001 he won the Polish championship in basketball of doctors. Polish Socialist Party
The Polish Socialist Party (, PPS) is a democratic socialist political party in Poland. It was one of the most significant parties in Poland from its founding in 1892 until its forced merger with the communist Polish Workers' Party to form the Polish United Workers' Party in 1948. Józef Piłsudski, founder of the Second Polish Republic, was a member of and later led the PPS in the early 20th century. Waldemar Włodzimierz Witkowski (born 29 October 1953) is a Polish politician, currently serving as a senator. He has been a leader of the Labour Union since 2006, and from 2006 to 2018 served as a member of the Greater Poland Voivodeship Sejmik. Biography Witkowski was born in Poznań in 1953. He is married and has two children: a daughter, Monika, and son, Maciej. Witkowski is also a notable cooperation movement activist.
