Parliament Of New South Wales
The Parliament of New South Wales, formally the Legislature of New South Wales, (definition of "The Legislature") is the bicameral legislative body of the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW). It consists of the Monarch, the New South Wales Legislative Assembly (lower house) and the New South Wales Legislative Council (upper house). Each house is directly elected by the people of New South Wales at elections held approximately every four years. The legislative authority of the parliament derives from section 5 of the '' Constitution Act 1902'' (NSW). The power to make laws that apply to New South Wales is shared with the Federal (or Commonwealth) Parliament. The houses of the New South Wales Parliament follow the Westminster parliamentary traditions, green and red chamber colours and protocols for the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council, respectively. Members of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly who served in the 58th Parliament hold their seats from 2023 to 2027. They were elected at the 2023 New South Wales state election, 2023 state election on 25 March 2023. New South Wales National Party
The New South Wales National Party (officially known as the National Party of Australia – N.S.W. and commonly known as the NSW Nationals) is an Australian political party in New South Wales which forms the state branch of the federal National Party. The party has generally been the junior partner in a centre-right Coalition with the NSW branch of the Liberal Party of Australia. Since 1927, the Nationals have been in Coalition with the Liberals and their predecessors, the Nationalist Party of Australia (1927–1931), the United Australia Party (1931–1943), and the Democratic Party (1943–1945). During periods of conservative government, the leader of the Nationals also serves as Deputy Premier of New South Wales. Barwon is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Roy Butler, a former member of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party who is now an independent MP. Royal Francis Butler (born 22 March 1977) is an Australian politician who has been a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly since March 2019, representing the electoral district of Barwon as an independent. He is a former member of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party. An independent politician or non-affiliated politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or bureaucratic association. There are numerous reasons why someone may stand for office as an independent. Some politicians have political views that do not align with the platforms of any political party and therefore they choose not to affiliate with them. The Greens NSW
The Greens NSW, also known as the NSW Greens, is a green political party in New South Wales and a member of the Australian Greens. First formed in 1991, the Greens NSW began as a state-level party before joining with other green parties in Australia to create the current federated structure. The Greens NSW continue to be separate to the other state and territory Greens parties in several regards. A crossbencher is a minor party or independent politician, independent member of some legislatures, such as the Parliament of Australia. Parliamentary opposition is a form of political opposition to a designated government, particularly in a Westminster-based parliamentary system. The New South Wales Liberal Party, officially called The Liberal Party of Australia, New South Wales Division, and colloquially known as the NSW Liberals, is the state division of the Liberal Party of Australia in New South Wales.
