Parkdale, Edmonton
Parkdale is a central neighbourhood in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada located a short distance north of the downtown core. Located to the south of the neighbourhood is Commonwealth Stadium and to the north east is Northlands Coliseum. Parkdale is part of the Norwood area of Edmonton. The community is represented by the Parkdale-Cromdale Community League, established in 1921, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 85 Street and 113 Avenue. The Cromdale Community League operated as a separate entity from 1925 until 1986 when it joined the then Parkdale Community League. Demographics In the City of Edmonton's 2012 municipal census, Parkdale had a population of living in dwellings, a -6.9% change from its 2009 population of . 118 Avenue, Edmonton
118 Avenue is the designated name of two major arterial roads in central Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, separated by the Edmonton City Centre Airport. The west side services both an industrial area, and a residential area, while the east 118 Avenue, originally Alberta Avenue, is one of the oldest streets in Edmonton outside the downtown core. The name was changed to 118 Avenue in 1914 with the adoption of the grid system. Historically, it was a route between the City of Edmonton in the west and the Town of Beverly in the east. Stadium station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line. It is a ground-level station located at 111 Avenue and 84 Street, next to Commonwealth Stadium and Clarke Stadium. History The station opened on April 22, 1978, and is one of the original five stations on the LRT system. Redevelopment work on the station began in mid-May 2020. The station redevelopment includes renovating the entire station roof canopy, removing the underground concourse, adding a second platform (making the station the only two platform LRT station in Edmonton), adding new heated shelters, public washrooms, and a security office. Coliseum station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line. It is located at 78 Street and 118 Avenue, near Northlands Coliseum, and is built on an overpass above 118 Avenue (Alberta Avenue). History The station is one of the original five stations, and opened on April 22, 1978. Although Coliseum was never a terminal station, terminus of the LRT line, all trains started and ended their runs at Coliseum when the fleet of LRT rail cars was maintained at the Cromdale garage nearby. Edmonton Light Rail Transit, commonly referred to as the LRT, is a light rail system in Edmonton, Alberta.
