Paris Université Club (baseball)
The Paris Université Club plays baseball in Division Élite. They have been the most successful club in league history, sporting 22 titles. They won Bronze in the 1993 European Cup, the first French team to win a Medal in Cup history. They are a part of the omnisport club ( PUC). Division Élite
The Division Élite is the highest level of Baseball in France. Its clubs compete for the Championnat de France de baseball. Organization The French D1 begins play on March 23, 2025. An eight-team league plays a 28-game schedule on weekends, with the season running from thru early October. The top 4 teams qualify for semifinals. Semi-finals and finals are also played in best-of-five series. The league follows a promotion and relegation system where the last of the regular season goes down to the Division 2 while the D2 winner automatically moves up to D1. In 2025, Beziers will play their first season in Division 1 after winning the D2 in 2024. The annual Challenge de France typically takes place every May, with the 2025 edition to be held in Metz. Two French clubs, Rouen and Montpellier will participate in the 2025 European Cup, to be hosted in June in Rouen. Stade Pershing
Stade Pershing () was a multi-purpose stadium in the Bois de Vincennes in Paris, France. It was used mostly for football matches and hosted the final of the Coupe de France on four occasions. It hosted the Inter-Allied Games in 1919 and the first Women's World Games in 1922. It also hosted some of the football matches during the 1924 Summer Olympics. The stadium was able to hold 29,000 spectators at its height; it opened in 1919 and closed in 1960. Construction of the stadium was originally contracted to a French firm. However, labour disputes stopped all work. At this time, the engineers of the United States Army intervened and completed construction. It hosted the Inter-Allied Games, and then was presented as a gift from the US to France after the games concluded.
