Parañaque Patriots
The Parañaque Patriots are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Parañaque. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team plays its home games at the gymnasium of Olivarez College. The team is one of the MPBL's charter teams during the league's 2018 season. The team is currently owned by the City Government of Parañaque and its vice mayor Joan Villafuerte. Despite a successful inaugural season where the Patriots reached the semifinals as the seventh seed, the Parañaque-based franchise didn't make the playoffs in the next four seasons from 2019 to 2023 (the team did not play in 2022), which is tied with the Biñan Tatak Gel and Mindoro Tamaraws for the longest playoff drought in the MPBL including non-playing seasons. Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League
The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's regional professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of 30 teams. Founded in 2017 by eight-division boxing world champion and then-Senator Manny Pacquiao, the MPBL is not intended to be a competitor to the top-flight Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), but rather to provide a gateway for local, homegrown talents to showcase their skills. The league uses a home-and-away format, similar to the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. The MPBL started an amateur league before being granted professional status by the Games and Amusements Board. 2023 MPBL Season
The 2023 MPBL season was the fifth season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the second as a professional league. The regular season began on March 11, 2023 with the opening ceremonies at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena. The 2023 MPBL All-Star Game was held at Bataan People's Center in Balanga, Bataan on September 16. The league took two breaks during the regular season, during Holy Week and during the Philippines' co-hosting of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. The playoffs then began on October 6 and ended on December 2 when the Pampanga Giant Lanterns defeated the Bacoor City Strikers in three games in the 2023 MPBL finals. Juneric "Jong" Davalos Baloria (born June 3, 1990) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted 30th overall pick by the Blackwater Elite in the 2014 PBA draft. He was traded to the NLEX Road Warriors along with 2016 and 2017 second round picks for Jason Ballesteros and Sunday Salvacion. Harold Miguel Davis Arboleda (born September 9, 1990) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Pablo Valiant Kings of the Pilipinas Super League (PSL). He was drafted 20th overall in the 2014 PBA draft by Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters. College career In 2012, he was the Perpetual Help Altas starting small forward. It is the main event of the greater MPBL All-Star Day, held during the latter part of the regular season alongside a series of pre-game events within the same day. The 2025 MPBL season is the seventh season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and its fourth under professional status. The regular season began on March 8, 2025 with the opening ceremony at the Capital Arena in Ilagan, Isabela. The season will end in December with the 2025 MPBL finals. This season features 30 teams. The league expanded to the Cagayan Valley region for the first time with the addition of the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys. Bacoor City Strikers
The Bacoor City Strikers were a Filipino professional basketball team, based in Bacoor, Cavite. The team last competed in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and played their home games at Strike Gymnasium. The Strikers also previously shared the province of Cavite with the team now known as the Imus Braderhood. Owned by the Local Government of Bacoor, the team joined the league in the 2018–19 season, becoming the second team based in Cavite after the Imus Bandera.
