Paraná Soccer Technical Center, more commonly referred to as PSTC, is a Brazilian professional association football club in Cornélio Procópio, Paraná which currently plays in Campeonato Paranaense, the top division of the Paraná state football league. History The club was founded on August 15, 1994. PSTC competed in the Campeonato Paranense Third Level in 2010, when they were eliminated in the First Stage of the competition. They reached the Second Stage of the Campeonato Paranense Third Level in 2011, finishing in the fifth position overall in the competition. In 2013, they started a partnership with the Cornélio Procópio municipality changed their name to PSTC Procopense. They won the Campeonato Paranaense - Segunda Divisão twice (2015 and 2019). Stadium Paraná Soccer Technical Center played their home games at CT de Londrina. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 1,000 people. Format The format has changed in 2014. 12 teams are together in a single group. They play against each other once, and the 8 best teams after the 11 games will play the knockout phase that teams will play against each other over two legs on a home-and-away basis. The last 4 teams will play the Torneio da Morte, where they will play against each other two times (home-away), the best two teams will stay in the Série Ouro, the first division of the football of the state and the two worst will be relegated to the Série Prata, the second division. The 2020 Campeonato Paranaense (officially the Campeonato Paranaense de Futebol Profissional da 1ª Divisão - Temporada 2020) was the 106th edition of the top division of football in the state of Paraná organized by FPF. The competition started on 18 January and ended on 5 August. On 16 March 2020, FPF suspended the Campeonato Paranaense indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. Complying with the guidelines of the Governo do Estado do Paraná, the tournament resumed behind closed doors on 18 July 2020. Athletico Paranaense, the defending champions, won their 26th title after defeating Coritiba 3–1 on aggregate. Cornélio Procópio
Cornélio Procópio is a municipality in the state of Paraná in the Southern Region of Brazil. The city is served by Francisco Lacerda Junior Airport. History It was thus named in honor of Colonel Cornélio Procópio de Araújo Carvalho, a prominent figure in the Empire during the late 19th century. The colonel was the patron of the railway station at km 125, which is the landmark of the entire economic expansion of the region in which the city is located. Colonel Procópio, who died in 1909, left nine children, including Maria Balbina Procópio Junqueira, married to his second cousin, Francisco da Cunha Junqueira, owner of Gleba Laranjinha, who named the town of Santa Mariana, which until then was just a farm.
