Panton Hill Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Panton Hill, Victoria, currently competing in the Northern Football League (Australia), Northern Football League. History The club was founded in 1926, and affiliated with the Bourke - Evelyn Football League. The club originally wore a maroon jumper with a white Vee. In 1929 and 1930, they played in the Diamond Valley Football League. The club first premiership was in 1934 against Yarra Glen who were undefeated until the Grand Final. The club only played the 1938 season and part of 1939 and was in recess for the remainder of the period. The club re-emerged in 1947 in the newly formed seven member club Panton Hill Football League, Panton Hill, Wallan East, Plenty Rovers, Hurstbridge, Kinglake, Whittlesea and St Andrews. The Northern Football Netball League (NFNL), formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League (DVFL) and later the Northern Football League (NFL), is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Diamond Creek, Victoria, Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria (state), Victoria. History The league was founded in 1922, originally having six clubs, three of whom still participate. In 1941 the league went into recess for five years as a result of World War II, the competition recommencing in 1946. After the war the league continued to grow. Coolaroo is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Coolaroo recorded a population of 3,193 at the 2021 census. History Coolaroo is thought to be derived from an Aboriginal word meaning 'brown snake'. Hurstbridge Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 34 km north east of Melbourne in the township of Hurstbridge. The club currently competes in the Northern Football League. History From the 1890s, social football was played at Lew Curtis's Flat, Hurstbridge. In 1914, the Hurstbridge Football Club was founded and matches were played in the Bourke Evelyn Football League. Hurstbridge transferred to the Heidelberg District Football Association for just the one season in 1921 before returning to the Bourke-Evelyn Football League. The Club moved activities to the newly developed Memorial Park (now known as the Ben Frilay Oval) in 1922. The redback spider (''Latrodectus hasselti''), also known as the Australian black widow, is a species of highly venomous spider believed to originate in Australia, but which is now found in Southeast Asia and New Zealand. Panton Hill is a town in Victoria, Australia, 32 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Nillumbik local government area. Panton Hill recorded a population of 1,063 at the 2021 census. History Originally called Kingstown, the area experienced population growth in the mid-1850s during the Victorian gold rush when prospectors mined the hills around the town known as the Caledonia Goldfields.
