The Pakistan national kabaddi team represents Pakistan in international kabaddi. The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation manages the team. History * The Pakistan national Kabaddi team have regularly won medals at the Asian Games and World Cups. In seven previous Asian Games, they have won five bronze medals and two silver medals. * Since 1985, Pakistan has taken part in 38 major international competitions in which they have reached the finals 25 times (winning five of those competitions, and being runners-up 20 times) and had third-place finishes 13 times). Performance in the Asian Championships * Pakistan is the only team besides arch rivals India having managed to win a medal in every Asian Games Kabaddi competition. * Pakistan won bronze medals in the 1990 and 1994 Asian Games. The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) is the national governing body to develop and promote the sport of Kabaddi in Pakistan. The federation manages the Pakistan national kabaddi team. History The federation was formed in 1964 in Islamabad. It is based in Islamabad. It organized the first Pakistan Standard Style Kabaddi League, the Super Kabaddi League. Kabaddi At The 2009 Asian Indoor Games
Kabaddi (, ) is a contact sport, contact team sport played between two teams of seven players. It is one of the traditional games of South Asia. In this game, a raider enters the opposing half of the court to touch defenders and attempt to return within 30 seconds without being tackled. Points are awarded for successful tags, while defenders earn a point for stopping the raider. Tagged or tackled players are temporarily out but can re-enter when their team scores. Raids alternate between teams throughout the game. It is popular in South Asia and nearby Asian countries.
