Pabradė Training Area
Pabradė Training Area () is a major military facility of the Lithuanian Armed Forces located near Pabradė, Lithuania. It was established in 1904. It has an area of and can be used for training at a battalion level. Since 2014, the official name of the facility is General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area, but colloquially it remains known as Pabradė Training Area. Within the Pabradė Training Area is the US military camp Camp Herkus where US forces were deployed on 30 August 2021, its main purpose is to house US Army Soldiers in Lithuania. As of now, Camp Herkus is a temporary base for US soldiers to reside in while military officials consider a more permanent base close to Belarus and Kaliningrad. Camp Herkus contains ~500 members of the 1st Infantry Division along with several dozen M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and other support equipment. Rukla
Rukla is a small town in Kaunas County in central Lithuania. In 2011 it had a population of 2,098. Administrative centre of Rukla Eldership. The national Refugee Reception Centre hosts all refugees coming to the country. Military base Five different units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces are based in Rukla. Gaižiūnai is a village in Jonava district municipality, Lithuania. It is situated on the Taurosta River, tributary of Neris, about southeast of Jonava and northeast of Kaunas. The railroad from Šiauliai forks into Kaunas and Vilnius near the village. Gaižiūnai is also known as a military base. Military base The old military training ground in Varėna could not be used by the Lithuanian Army as it was too close to the demarcation line with Poland and stirred Polish protests. Therefore in 1930 the army bought some of land, mostly pine forest, bog, and sandy soil unsuitable for agriculture. Rūdninkai Training Area
Rūdninkai Training Area () is a military facility in Lithuania, located southwest of Vilnius and from the border with Belarus. It is surrounded by Rūdninkai Forest, the fifth largest forest in Lithuania. It is part of a larger training complex encompassing about . Bradley Fighting Vehicles
The Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) is an American tracked armored fighting vehicle of the United States developed by FMC Corporation and now manufactured by BAE Systems Land & Armaments, formerly United Defense. It is named for U.S. General Omar Bradley. The Bradley is designed to transport infantry or scouts with armor protection, while providing covering fire to suppress enemy troops and armored vehicles.
