Pablo Manuel Galdames Díaz (; born 26 June 1974 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean former professional Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. He obtained a total number of 22 caps for the Chile national football team, Chile national team, scoring two goals between 1995 and 2001. At the club level, Galdames played for Unión Española and Club Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Chile in his home country, Cruz Azul and CD Veracruz in Mexico, Colombian side América de Cali, as well as Racing Club de Avellaneda, Racing Club, Quilmes AC and Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba from Argentina. Personal life He is the father of the Chilean footballers Pablo Galdames Millán, Pablo Jr. and Thomas Galdames, Thomas and of the Mexican-Chilean footballer Benjamín Galdames, Benjamín. The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División.
