Digital rectal examination (DRE), also known as a prostate exam (), is an internal examination of the rectum performed by a healthcare provider. Prior to a 2018 report from the United States Preventive Services Task Force, a digital exam was a common component of annual medical examination for older men, as it was thought to be a reliable screening test for prostate cancer. Usage This examination may be used: * for the diagnosis of prostate, prostatic disorders, benign prostatic hyperplasia and the four types of prostatitis. Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome, chronic bacterial prostatitis, acute (sudden) bacterial prostatitis, and asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis. Clarence Hudson White
Clarence Hudson White (April 8, 1871 – July 8, 1925) was an American photographer, teacher and a founding member of the Photo-Secession movement. He grew up in small towns in Ohio, where his primary influences were his family and the social life of rural America. After visiting the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893, he took up photography. Although he was completely self-taught in the medium, within a few years he was internationally known for his pictorialism, pictorial photographs that captured the spirit and sentimentality of America in the early twentieth century. As he became well known for his images, White was sought out by other photographers who often traveled to Ohio to learn from him. He became friends with Alfred Stieglitz and helped advance the cause of photography as a true art form. In computational complexity theory, PPA is a complexity class, standing for "Polynomial Parity Argument" (on a graph). Introduced by Christos Papadimitriou in 1994 (page 528), PPA is a subclass of TFNP. It is a class of search problems that can be shown to be total by an application of the handshaking lemma: ''any undirected graph that has a vertex whose degree is an odd number must have some other vertex whose degree is an odd number''. Public Procurement Act (Switzerland)
The Public Procurement Act (PPA) is a Swiss federal law that governs the awarding of public contracts by Swiss federal authorities, representing a total market of 80-100 billion CHF per year. It transposes the WTO's Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA) into Swiss law. It was adopted on 21 June 2019 by the Federal Assembly and came into force on 1 January 2021. It is a complete revision of the previous law of 1994. This act does not apply to cantonal authorities, which have their own regulation on the topic. However, the 2019 revision was also accompanied by a total revision of Intercantonal Agreement on Public Procurement, which provides a common framework for the Public Procurement at the cantonal level. Together, these changes brought substantial harmonization of federal and cantonal law.
