POFC Botev Vratsa
Botev () is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Vratsa, that competes in the First League, the top division of Bulgarian football. The club was founded in 1921. Since 1948, Botev have played their home games at Stadion Hristo Botev. It is situated in the Hristo Botev sport complex, in the east part of Vratsa. The stadium originally had 25,000 seats. After a recent reconstruction, which took place in 2008, 2009, 2015 and in 2022, the stadium has 9 reconstructed seated sectors with a total of 8 935 seats. Botev's longest continuous period in the top tier was 26 consecutive seasons between 1964 and 1990. The club's highest ever league finish came in 1970–71 when it finished third in the top flight. Stadion Hristo Botev (Vratsa)
Stadion Hristo Botev () is a multi-purpose stadium in Vratsa, Bulgaria. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. It has been the home of Botev Vratsa for 70 years. The stadium was built in 1948 and has a seating capacity of 8,935 spectators. Renovation After the approval of a project worth €150,000, in 2008 the stadium was renovated and had 2,255 seats, spread in the 3 central sectors. In June 2009, the Botev Vratsa management approved a second project, worth €120,000 for reconstruction of sector "V", opposite the central building of the stadium. The second renovation was completed in 2009. As of 2009, the stadium has 4,455 plastic seats. Aleksandar Trifonov Alekov () (born 25 April 1985) is a Bulgarian public figure, a candidate for European Parliament at the 2014 elections, representing People's Voice. He was nominated second on the electoral list of People's Voice after participating in the first public casting held by a political party in Bulgaria. Alekov is a political scientist, holding degrees from Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen and City University London. Hristo Botev
Hristo Botev (, ), born Hristo Botyov Petkov (Христо Ботьов Петков; – ), was a Bulgarian revolutionary and poet. Botev is considered by Bulgarians to be a symbolic historical figure and national hero. His poetry is a prime example of the literature of the Bulgarian National Revival, though he is considered to be ahead of his contemporaries in his political, philosophical, and aesthetic views. Botev was born in Kalofer, Bulgaria, to Botyo Petkov and Ivanka Boteva. His father was a teacher in Odessa and a significant figure of the late period of the Bulgarian National Revival. Botev attended the local three-class school and later attended a high school in Odessa. He left high school in 1865 and spent two years teaching in Odessa and Bessarabia. Valentin Stanchev (; born 25 October 1968) is a former Bulgarian footballer who played as a striker. Career Born in Vratsa, Valentin Stanchev played in his career for Botev Vratsa, Chernomorets Burgas, Spartak Varna, Shanghai Shenhua, CSKA Sofia, Sachsen Leipzig and Cherno More Varna. Valentin Iliev Ivanov (; born 11 August 1980) is a Bulgarian football manager and former professional player. Personal life Iliev's father, Iliya Valov, was goalkeeper for CSKA and Bulgaria's national team. Playing career Early career Iliev started his career in his home town Vratsa, where he played for the local team Botev Vratsa. Iliya Valov
Iliya Valov (; 29 December 1961 – 13 July 2024) was a Bulgarian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made 34 appearances for Bulgaria. Career Valov made 180 appearances for Botev Vratsa from 1981 to 1988. He was the number two goalkeeper to Borislav Mihaylov in the Bulgaria national team's squad at the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He made a total of 34 caps with the national team. During his career he saved 12 penalty kicks A PFG, in the top division of Bulgarian football. After retiring as a player, Valov worked as a goalkeeping coach for Cherno More Varna until 2004 before following coach Plamen Markov to CSKA Sofia. 2010–11 B Group
The 2010–11 B Group was the 55th season of the Bulgarian B Football Group, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. The season started on 31 July 2010 and finished in May 2011 with the A Group promotion play-off. On 3 June the Executive Committee of Bulgarian Football Union decided to reduce the number of teams in both West and East B PFG due to the licensing problems that occurred in the last 5 years. The new format will consist 12 teams in each group playing three times during the season. The draw for the third matches will be conducted after Round 22 based in the Berger tables. The same principles were used in the first level football leagues in Macedonia and Montenegro. There is also change regarding the A Group promotion play-off.
