PDP–Lakas Coalition
The PDP–Lakas Coalition also known as PDP–LnB was a defunct multi-party electoral alliance supported by President Corazon Aquino and her administration for the 1988 Philippine local elections. It was a coalition of then two major parties in the Philippines, the PDP–Laban of President Aquino, and the Lakas ng Bansa (LnB) of House Speaker Ramon Mitra Jr. The coalition featured local candidates from both PDP–Laban and the Lakas ng Bansa parties in various provinces, cities and towns for the January 18, 1988 local election. María Corazón "Cory" Sumulong Cojuangco-Aquino (; January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009) was a Filipino politician who served as the 11th president of the Philippines and the first woman president in the country, from Presidency of Corazon Aquino, 1986 to 1992. José "Peping" Sumulong Cojuangco Jr. (born September 19, 1934) is a Filipino politician, sports administrator, and businessman. He served as the 9th president of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) from 2004 to 2018. He previously served as the Representative of Tarlac's 1st district from 1961 to 1969 and 1987 to 1998.
