PBA Finals MVP
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Finals Most Valuable Player award is an award given to the Filipino player who makes an outstanding performance during a conference finals given since the 1996 All-Filipino Cup finals. The award is decided by the PBA Press Corps. Usually, the award is given to a player who is a member of the champion team in a conference and is given always at the end of the finals series. There have been times two players from the same team shared the award, with the most recent duo to accomplish this feat being Jimmy Alapag and Jayson Castro during the 2011 Commissioner's Cup finals. The award can only be given to local players and not the team's import. June Mar Fajardo, James Yap, LA Tenorio, and Danny Seigle are tied for the most PBA Finals MVPs in league history. Johnny Abarrientos
Johnny Abarrientos (born July 17, 1970) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was also a many-time member of the Philippine National team, and was the 1996 PBA Most Valuable Player, becoming the shortest player to win the league's highest individual award. He is known by many as The Flying A when he started playing for the Alaska Milkmen in 1993. He is currently an assistant coach for the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots and for the FEU Tamaraws. Amateur career Abarrientos began his basketball career in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws alongside future pro Victor Pablo and led the Tamaraws to two UAAP crowns in 1991 and 1992. Red Bull Thunder
The Barako Bull Energy Boosters were a professional basketball team of the Philippine Basketball Association owned by the Photokina Marketing Corporation. They entered the league in 2000, after a successful stint in the semi-professional Philippine Basketball League during the late 1990s. Under the name Agfa Color, the team won a championship in 1996. It was originally known as the Red Bull Barako before the team announced its name change. Barako Bull has won two Commissioner's Cups, in 2001 and in 2002 and the 2006 Fiesta Conference. Edward "Poch" Juinio (born May 25, 1973) is a Filipino retired former professional basketball player of the Philippine Basketball Association. He played most of his seasons with Alaska Aces and won numerous championships. Professional career Alaska Milkmen A former 6'5" standout of the UP Fighting Maroons, Juinio was drafted by Alaska as the 5th overall pick in the 1994 PBA Draft. Danilo Cabonitalla Ildefonso (born December 9, 1976) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He currently serves as an assistant coach for both the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the NU Bulldogs of the UAAP.
