A Publicly Available Specification or PAS is a standardization document that closely resembles a formal standard in structure and format but which has a different development model. The objective of a Publicly Available Specification is to speed up standardization. PASs are often produced in response to an urgent market need. Background BSI Group develops PASs in the UK, while the International Electrotechnical Commission develops international PASs in the arena of electrical, electronic and related technologies, and the International Organization for Standardization develops international ISO PASs. BSI Group pioneered the PAS format. Under the BSI model, any organization, association or group who wish to document standardized best practice on a specific subject can commission a PAS, subject to the BSI acceptance process. Kaiho Sangyo
is a Japanese automobile recycling company based in Kanazawa city, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. History In 1969 Norihiko Kondo founded Kondo Automobile Company Inc. in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. His company originally specialized in dismantling automobiles and selling scrap steel, aluminium and copper. The turning point for the business came in 1991 when he sold 20 tons of used engines and suspension parts to a customer from Kuwait. In 1992, Kondo renamed his company Kaiho Sangyo and shifted his business from a simple car-scrapping company to a recycling reseller of used automobile parts in foreign countries. Revenue grew rapidly from 715 million yen in 2003 to 2.1 billion yen in 2008. Kaiho decided to invest in environmental management systems and product quality management systems in the early 2000s.
