P. Subramaniam
Padmanabha Subramaniam (19 February 1910 – 4 October 1979) was an Indian film producer, film director, distributor, theatre owner, and mayor. He is the founder of Merryland Studio (established in 1951), the second film studio in Kerala. From mid-1950s to late 1970s, he produced 69 films of which 59 films were directed by himself. His '' Kumara Sambhavam'' won the first ever Kerala State Film Award for Best Film. His 1958 film '' Randidangazhi'' received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. He contributed the proceedings from his 1975 film '' Swami Ayyappan'' for the development of Sabarimala shrine in Kerala, where he constructed a road named Swamy Ayyappan Road. Nagercoil, natively spelt as Nāgarkovil (, "Temple of the Nāgas", or Nagaraja-Temple), is a Municipal Corporation city and the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu state, India. Udaya Studio
Udaya Studios is one of the oldest film studios in the Malayalam film industry of India. It was established in 1947 by director-producer Kunchacko (1912–1976) and film distributor K. V. Koshy in Pathirappally, Alappuzha in Kerala. The studio influenced the gradual shift of Malayalam film industry from Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Kerala. The first film of the studio was '' Vellinakshatram'' (1949). The films made at the studio were produced under the banner of K & K Productions, and later under Excel Productions (also spelt X. L. Bhakta Kuchela (1961 Film)
Sudama (), also known as Kuchela (), is a childhood friend of the Hindu deities, Hindu deity Krishna. The story of his visit to Dvārakā, Dvaraka to meet his friend is featured in the Bhagavata Purana. In their legend, Sudama and Krishna study together as children at Sandipani's Ashram, ashrama, believed to have been at Ujjain. Leading a life of abject poverty, Sudama's wife urges him to go to Krishna, and request his assistance. Carrying some handfuls of parched rice as a gift, Sudama visits his old friend at Dvaraka, who receives him with honour. After discerning Sudama's unrevealed poverty, Krishna creates various luxurious palaces for his friend where his hut had stood, which the former sees when he returns home. Sathyan (Malayalam Actor)
Sathyan (born Cheruvilakathu Veetil Manuel Sathyanesan Nadar; 9 November 1912 – 15 June 1971) was an Indian actor known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Known for his own style and versatility in acting, Satyan was one of the pioneers of realistic acting in Indian film industry. He is respectfully called Sathyan Master. He was also a soldier in the British Indian Army and later a police officer with the Travancore State Police. Sathyan served as an officer in the British Indian Army during World War II. After the war he joined the Travancore state police as an inspector in late 1940s. During this time he got interested in acting and acted in amateur stage plays. He made his debut film in 1952 film Athmasakhi and rose to stardom with the critically acclaimed film Neelakuyil in 1954. Prahlada () is an asura king in Hindu scriptures. He is known for his staunch devotion to the preserver deity, Vishnu. He appears in the narrative of Narasimha, the lion avatara of Vishnu, who rescues Prahlada by disimboweling and killing his evil father, the asura king Hiranyakashipu. Prahlada is described as a saintly boy, known for his innocence and bhakti towards Vishnu.
