The suburb is named after the explorer John Oxley, John Joseph William Molesworth Oxley (1783 to 1828), who explored parts of New South Wales. Oxley High School
Oxley High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in North Tamworth, in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1968, the school enrolled approximately 970 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom 19 percent identified as Indigenous Australians and four percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Simon Bartlett–Taylor. Otago Harbour is the natural harbour of Dunedin, New Zealand, consisting of a long, much-indented stretch of generally navigable water separating the Otago Peninsula from the mainland. They join at its southwest end, from the harbour mouth. It is home to Dunedin's two port facilities, Port Chalmers (half way along the harbour) and at Dunedin's wharf (at the harbour's end). The harbour has been of significant economic importance for approximately 700 years, as a sheltered harbour and fishery, then deep water port. Geography The harbour was formed from the drowned remnants of the giant Dunedin Volcano, centred close to what is now Port Chalmers. Oxley is a south-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Oxley had a population of 8,336 people. Oxley is located approximately from the Brisbane CBD, but it is from the Brisbane GPO by road. The suburb contains a mix of residential and industrial land.
