picture info	Oxford University Rowing Clubs Oxford University Rowing Clubs (OURCs) is a federation of the Oxford University Boat Club (OUBC), the Oxford University Women's Boat Club (OUWBC), the Oxford University Lightweight Rowing Club (OULRC), and the Oxford University Women's Lightweight Rowing Club (OUWLRC), as well as all college boat clubs. OURCs is a purely administrative organisation with no training or crews. It was created in 1986 in order to remove the organisational burden from the university squad and is responsible for organising inter-collegiate competitions and overseeing the conduct of college rowing. The student-led organisation of OURCs is supported by senior members of the university, the Council for Oxford University Rowing, which issues advice and deals with aspects of rowing safety. A similar function is fulfilled by the Cambridge University Combined Boat Clubs for rowing clubs of the University of Cambridge. 	Oxford University Boat Club Oxford University Boat Club (OUBC) is the rowing club for male, heavyweight oarsman of the University of Oxford, England, located on the River Thames at Oxford. The club was founded in the early 19th century. The Boat Race The club races against the Cambridge University Boat Club in The Boat Race on the Thames in London each year, with the Oxford boat based at the Westminster School Boat Club. The club also selects a reserve crew, Isis, to race the Cambridge reserve crew, Goldie, earlier on Boat Race day. OUBC was one of five clubs which retained the right until 2012 to appoint representatives to the Council of British Rowing. The club trains on the Thames on the Isis stretch in Oxford and at Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The Boat Club competes primarily in Torpids and Summer Eights bumps races in Oxford. However, it also races at various external events, such as Wallingford Regatta. The college has a boathouse on Christ Church Meadow which it shares with Brasenose College Boat Club. History There is no record of Exeter College putting a crew on the river before 1823. The Exeter College Boat Club would appear to have been founded in 1823 or 1824 under the impetus of Henry Bulteel. Bulteel had been an undergraduate at Brasenose College, and stroked Brasenose to the headship in 1821 and 1822. picture info	Lady Margaret Hall Boat Club Lady Margaret Hall Boat Club (LMHBC) is a rowing club for members and staff of Lady Margaret Hall (LMH), Oxford. It was founded in 1899. History LMHBC first competed in inter-college OURCs racing events in 1977, when a women's division was finally established (LMH was a women-only college for the first 100 years of its foundation). As the senior women's college LMH was placed first on the river for the inaugural women's division. The club has provided rowers for the Boat Race, the Women's Boat Race, and the Isis Reserves Race.
