Oppama Station
is a passenger railway station located in the city of Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, operated by the private railway company Keikyū. Lines Oppama Station is served by the Keikyū Main Line and is located 42.8 kilometers from the northern terminus of the line at Shinagawa Station in Tokyo. Station layout The station consists of two opposed elevated side platforms by a footbridge with the station building underneath. Platform screen doors were installed in January 2022. Platforms History The station opened on 1 April 1930, as a station on the Shōnan Electric Railway, which merged with the Keihin Electric Railway on 1 November 1941. Keikyū introduced station numbering to its stations on 21 October 2010; Oppama Station was assigned station number KK54. A 30-minute OVA episode was released on August 25, 2006 and a television series adaptation aired on Chiba TV from July 5, 2007, to December 27, 2007. Plot In the year 2071, humanity sees the appearance of mechanical cell clusters, known as WORMs. The technology begins sweeping away the human race on a massive scale, destroying one-third of the human population in just under two years. This leads humanity to overcome their national differences, and unite as a single force. Not being able to turn the situation in their favor, humanity decided to permit the use of weapons of mass destruction. Animation Runner Kuromi
is an OVA anime film produced by Yumeta Company; part 1 in 2001 and part 2 in 2004. It is a parody of the anime production business itself. It was released on DVD in North America by Central Park Media. Plot ''Animation Runner Kuromi'' ''1'' The plot revolves around a girl called Mikiko "Kuromi" Oguro who grows up watching the fictional anime ''Luis Monde III''. She decides that animation is something she wants to do, and so enrolls in animation school. When she gets out of school, she is delighted to find a job at a small animation studio named Studio Petit. The director of the studio shows her around and gives her the nickname "Kuromi," a name meant to abbreviate her own. Seawise Giant
TT ''Seawise Giant''—earlier ''Oppama''; later ''Happy Giant'', ''Jahre Viking'', ''Knock Nevis'', and ''Mont''—was a ULCC supertanker that was the longest self-propelled ship in history, built in 1974–1979 by Sumitomo Heavy Industries in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan. She possessed the greatest deadweight tonnage ever recorded. Fully laden, her displacement was 657,019 tonnes. The heaviest self-propelled ship of any kind, and with a laden draft of 24.6 m (81 ft), she was incapable of navigating the English Channel, the Suez Canal or the Panama Canal. Overall, she is generally considered the largest self-propelled ship ever built.
