Chris Olley
Chris Olley is a Nottingham based musician and photographer. He was the lead singer and guitarist for Six By Seven and also the band's main creative influence. He studied art at Wakefield College (1990–91) and gained a BA (Hons) in photography at Nottingham Trent University (1991–94). It was at his time at University that Olley met Sam Hempton and together they formed six.byseven. Olley and Chris Davis were the only constant members in the different line-ups of Six By Seven over the years. Although born in England, Olley spent much of his early years in Germany, a fact alluded to on Six By Seven's first single "European Me". Consequently, some Six By Seven releases have featured tracks sung entirely in German, most notably the B-Side "Helden", a cover of David Bowie's song '' "Heroes"''. Frank Olley
Frank Olley (18 January 1927 – 21 July 1988) was an Australian politician. Born in Sydney, he was educated at Granville Technical College before becoming an electrical tradesman with the Electricity Commission of New South Wales. He was involved in local politics as a member of Yass Municipal Council. In 1972, he defeated Country Party member, Ian Pettitt, in the seat of Hume, entering the Australian House of Representatives as a member of the Labor Party. Gordon Olley
Flying Officer Gordon Percy Olley MM (29 April 1893 – 18 March 1958) was a World War I flying ace who later formed his own airline, Olley Air Services. He was the first pilot to fly one million miles in total. Early years Olley was born in Harleston, Norfolk on 29 April 1893. In the 1901 Census Olley, aged 7, is described as living at 161, Gloucester Road, Bristol with his parents George and Eliza Olley and a brother and sister. His father is described as a Tobacconist and Hairdresser. In the 1911 Census Olley is still living at the same address, now aged 17, and described as an Apprentice in a wholesale clothing warehouse. Greg Thomas Olley (born 2 February 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Gateshead. June Norma Olley
June Norma Olley (2 March 1924 – 29 July 2019) was a world-renowned seafood technologist and advocate for women's education. She was among the first to devise a scientific methodology for predictive microbiology. Early life Olley was born on 2 March 1924 in London in a bungalow at the back of Croydon aerodrome. Despite the expense, she was enrolled in boarding school by her mother who even inspected the standard of the school's laboratories. Her father, an early aviator and airline owner, "didn't believe in education for girls". Passionate about science from a young age, she was so devoted to her studies that her teachers blocked out the windows of the science library during the Blitz so she could continue to work there at night. Margaret Hannah Olley (24 June 192326 July 2011) was an Australian painter. She was the subject of more than ninety solo exhibitions. Early life Margaret Olley was born in Lismore, New South Wales. She was the eldest of three children of Joseph Olley and Grace (née Temperley). Martin William Charles Olley (born 27 November 1963) is a former English cricketer. Olley was a right-handed batting (cricket), batsman who played primarily as a wicketkeeper. He was born at Romford, Essex and later educated at Felsted School in Essex. Olley made his first-class cricket, first-class debut for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, Northamptonshire against Cambridge University Cricket Club, Cambridge University in 1983.
