Ohio Glory
The Ohio Glory were a professional American football team in NFL Europe. They played one season (1992) in the World League of American Football, which later became NFL Europe. Columbus, Ohio was awarded the WLAF franchise after the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks posted an 0-10 season. Ohio did not do much better, posting a 1-9 record after one season of play. The sole win came at the expense of the Frankfurt Galaxy in week 7, a 20-17 victory in Columbus. The Glory played their home games in Ohio Stadium on The Ohio State University's campus, which at the time had a seating capacity of 91,470 (now 102,082). Their head coach was Larry Little, and they participated in the North American East division. Their first draft pick was former NFL quarterback Babe Laufenberg. World League Of American Football
NFL Europe League (simply called NFL Europe and known in its final season as NFL Europa League) was a professional American football league that functioned as the developmental minor league of the National Football League (NFL). Originally founded in 1989 as the World League of American Football (or WLAF), the league was envisioned as a transatlantic league encompassing teams from both North America and Europe. Initially, the WLAF consisted of seven teams in North America and three in Europe. It began play in 1991 and lasted for two seasons before suspending operations; while the league had been "wildly popular" in Europe, it failed to achieve success in North America. Peter Hadhazy
Peter Hadhazy ( hu, Hadházy Péter; February 9, 1944 – April 3, 2006), was an American football executive, who served as the General Manager of the Cleveland Browns from 1976 to 1981 and also as an executive for the National Football League (NFL), the short-lived United States Football League (USFL) and the World League of American Football (WLAF). Born in Debrecen, Hungary, Hadhazy moved to the US with his parents during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. He joined the NFL as a part-time employee in high school, and attended Iona College on a tennis scholarship. He was hired by the league office after graduation and became its Director of Player Personnel in 1969. In July 1971, Hadhazy became Administrative Assistant to Upton Bell, general manager of the New England Patriots. He was later promoted to Assistant General Manager. Kent Wells
Kent Eugene Wells (born July 25, 1967) is a former American football defensive tackle who played one season with the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 1990 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and attended Lincoln East High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. Wells was also a member of the Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers, Ohio Glory, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Thunderbolts, Tampa Bay Storm, Iowa Barnstormers and Orlando Predators. Wally Chambers
Wallace Hashim Chambers (May 15, 1951September 22, 2019) was an American football defensive tackle for the Chicago Bears and defensive end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1970s. He was selected with the eighth overall pick by the Bears in the 1973 NFL Draft out of Eastern Kentucky University, and played previous to that for Mount Clemens High School, where he graduated in 1969. College Chambers attended Eastern Kentucky University.
