Odd Magne Gridseth
Odd Magne Gridseth (born 27 April 1959 in Ørsta, Sunnmøre, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (bass), known from the Trondheim music scene. Biography Gridseth was regular bassist in the band «Soundtrip» together with guitarist Ove Bjørken, drummer Ernst-Wiggo Sandbakk and keyboardist Jan Gunnar Hoff, a collaboration that was continued with the ensemble «Trondheim Bop-service», which included Ernst-Wiggo Sandbakk, Odd André Elveland (tenor saxophone), Ove Bjørken, Torgeir Andresen (trumpet) and Kåre Kolve (alto saxophone). He was also part of Kjersti Stubø Band, and achieved international fame through being part of Siri Gellein's Svaleband (1987–), while attending the Jazz program at Trondheim Coservatory og Music (NTNU). __NOTOC__ Curling Legs Productions A/S (established 1992 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian record label with a catalogue encompassing all styles of jazz and improvised music. It was started by Knut Værnes and Morten Halle to release their own music. In 1994, Odin Records was licensed to Curling Legs from the Norwegian Jazz Forum, to continue the production of Norwegian jazz. In addition to Værnes and Halle, the third co-owner of Curling Legs is Helge Westbye, the director of the record label Grappa Music, and the label is part of FONO. The music is distributed through the company Musikkoperatørene. By the time of their fiftieth issue, on 3 May 1999, Curling Legs had won Spellemannprisen four times. Gustav Lorentzen
Gustav Lorentzen (28 September 1947 – 21 April 2010), also known by his stage name Ludvigsen, was a Norwegian singer-songwriter, best known from being half of the successful duo Knutsen & Ludvigsen, alongside Øystein "Knutsen" Dolmen. He went solo in 1986, winning four Spellemann awards and one nomination for his 5 albums. In addition to music, Lorentzen made several TV series and books, mostly intended for children. He also had a degree in acoustics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. From 1997 until his death, Lorentzen collaborated with the psychologist Magne Raundalen, creating a therapeutic program for traumatized children, mainly victims of wars. He was also a UNICEF Ambassador since 1993. Arja Enni Helena Saijonmaa (born 1 December 1944 in Mikkeli) is a Finnish singer, political activist and occasional actress. Life and career She studied at the Sibelius Academy and earned a Bachelor of Arts at the Helsinki University. She made her breakthrough as a singer in Sweden. She has made albums with Swedish translations of songs by Mikis Theodorakis, as well as covers of Zarah Leander songs. In 1978 she issued ''Miten voi kyllin kiittää'', an album of Finnish translations of the songs of the Chilean composer and singer Violeta Parra. A Swedish version, ''Jag vill tacka livet'', came out the following year. The title song, "Jag vill tacka livet" ("Gracias a la vida") was one of her greatest hits. Øystein Dolmen
Øystein Dolmen (born 19 February 1947), also known as Knutsen, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter best known for being one half of the duo Knutsen & Ludvigsen, alongside Gustav Lorentzen ("Ludvigsen"). Knutsen & Ludvigsen was a humorous duo whose albums were primarily intended for children, but also became popular with more mature audiences. Dolmen was born in Trondheim. He and Lorentzen formed Knutsen & Ludvigsen in 1970, and released five albums between 1970 and 1983, twice winning Spellemann awards for best children's record. They split up in 1986, but reformed for a series of one-off reunion concerts in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 1989, Dolmen released his first album without Lorentzen, called ''"På frifot"''. Gunnar Andreas Berg (born 14 January 1954) is a Norwegian musician, educator, owner of the record label "Bergland Productions". Henning Sommerro
Henning Sommerro (born 3 May 1952 in Surnadal) is a Norwegian musician, composer and professor at NTNU. Biography Sommerro grew up on the Sommerro farm at Skei in Surnadal. His name became widely known in 1977 when the folk music group Vårsøg released their recording of Hans Hyldbakk’s poem ''Vårsøg''. Sommerro had his first lessons in organ and piano at the age of sixteen at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim. He studied organ there from 1970–1974, and from 1974–1976 he was organist in the villages of Stangvik and Todalen. From 1976–1977 he studied organ and composition at the music academy in Basel, and in 1978 he became director of music at the Teatret Vårt theatre in Molde.
