Outi Borgenström (formerly Borgenström-Anjala; born 24 January 1956 in Tampere) is a Finnish orienteering competitor. She won the 1979 Individual World Orienteering Championships,World Orienteering Championship, senior statistics 1966-2006 (Retrieved on November 19, 2007) and took 1974. Orienteering
Orienteering is a group of sports that involve using a map and compass to navigation, navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find Control point (orienteering), control points. Originally a training exercise in Land navigation (military), land navigation for military officers, orienteering has developed many variations. Among these, the oldest and the most popular is foot orienteering. Ari Anjala
Ari Anjala (born 31 May 1958) is a Finnish orienteering competitor, three times medalist in the relay at the World Orienteering Championships. He received a silver medal in the ''relay event'' in 1979, a bronze medal in 1981, and a bronze medal in 1991. Anjala and orienteer Outi Borgenström have a son, Topi Anjala, who is also an orienteer. Anjala won the Jukola relay in 1977. Topi Anjala
Topi Anjala (born 5 July 1984) is a Finnish orienteering competitor. He represented Finland at the 2009 World Orienteering Championships in Miskolc, where he placed 15th in the long distance, and won a bronze medal in the ''relay'', together with Tero Föhr and Mats Haldin. His career best personal best is seventh place in the long distance at the 2008 World Championships in the Czech Republic. Anjala has won the Jukola relay in 2016 and 2018. International Orienteering Federation
The International Orienteering Federation (IOF) is the international governing body of the sport of orienteering. The IOF head office is located in Karlstad Municipality, Karlstad, Sweden. The IOF governs four orienteering disciplines: foot orienteering, mountain bike orienteering, ski orienteering, and trail orienteering. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Orienteering Federation suspended the membership of the Russian Orienteering Federation.
