Oulu (electoral District)
Oulu () is one of the 13 electoral districts of the Parliament of Finland, the national legislature of Finland. The district was established as Oulu Province South (; ) in 1907 when the Diet of Finland was replaced by the Parliament of Finland. It was renamed Oulu Province (; ) in 1939 and Oulu in 1997. It is conterminous with the regions of Kainuu and North Ostrobothnia. The district currently elects 18 of the 200 members of the Parliament of Finland using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2023 parliamentary election it had 393,643 registered electors. History Oulu Province South was one 16 electoral districts established by the ''Election Act of the Grand Duchy of Finland'' (''Suomen Suuriruhtinaanmaan Vaalilaki'') passed by the Diet of Finland in 1906. Electoral Districts Of Finland
There are 13 electoral districts for elections to the Finnish Parliament. Each electoral district elects a number of MPs proportional to its population, currently ranging from 6 to 35 MPs, except Åland (parliamentary electoral district), Åland which only elects one. Boundaries The boundaries of the electoral districts are based on the provinces of Finland, provinces in use from 1634 to 1997, and have remained largely the same since the 1907 Finnish parliamentary election, first parliamentary election in 1907. Reisjärvi is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Oulu and is part of the Northern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . The municipality is unilingually Finnish. Geography Neighbouring municipalities are Haapajärvi, Kinnula, Lestijärvi, Pihtipudas and Sievi. The habitation in Reisjärvi is clustered into villages ("kylä"). Raahe
Raahe (; ; ) is a town in Finland, located on the western coast of the country. Raahe is situated in the North Ostrobothnia region, along the Gulf of Bothnia. The population of Raahe is approximately , while the sub-region has a population of approximately . It is the most populous municipality in Finland. Founded in 1649 by the Swedish statesman and Governor General of Finland, Count Per Brahe the Younger, it is one of 10 remaining historic wooden towns (or town centres) in Finland.
