Ottawa—Vanier (formerly known as Ottawa East) is a provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1908. It is located in the east end of Ottawa. The riding, with a large Franco-Ontarian population in Vanier, Ontario, Vanier, Overbrook (Ottawa), Overbrook, Lower Town, Forbes, Ottawa, Forbes, Carson Meadows and adjoining neighbourhoods, has been one of the most solidly Liberal in the country in recent years, having elected Liberals both federally and provincially in every election since 1971. A sizable minority of the riding is in the former city of Vanier, which was merged with Ottawa in 2000. Pineview (also spelled Pine View) is a neighbourhood in Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Overbrook is an urban neighbourhood situated in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward, in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located across the Rideau River from the neighbourhood of Sandy Hill and is just to the south of Vanier. To the east of Overbrook is the former City of Gloucester. It was constituted as a police village in 1922 and was annexed by the City of Ottawa in 1950. Geography Overbrook covers an area of 3.04 square kilometres and has a population density of 3,174 people per square kilometre (2011 Census). Manor Park is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the east side of Rockcliffe Park. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, on the east by the Aviation Parkway, on the south by Montreal Road and on the west by Birch Road. Lindenlea
Lindenlea is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Downtown. It is bordered by Maple Lane to the north, Acacia Avenue to the east, Beechwood Avenue to the south and Springfield Road to the west. Prior to its founding in 1919, there were some homes in the area on Beechwood Avenue adjacent to the community of Clarkstown (now part of Vanier) and on Rideau Terrace. It is the earliest planned community in Ottawa, dating back to the end of the First World War. The community was planned by Thomas Adams and is an example of Adams' garden suburb style. Cyrville (also referred to as Cummings) is a neighbourhood in Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward in the east-end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The area is located within the former City of Gloucester, and is roughly bounded on the north, west and south by the former Gloucester City limit, and on the east by the Aviation Parkway and Highway 417. Carson Grove is a neighbourhood in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood spans the former Ottawa-Gloucester boundary, which still forms the boundary between Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward and Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward. The neighbourhood was built in the early 1970s by the Campeau Corporation, and was named for John Carson, an early settler in the region. Beacon Hill is a neighbourhood located in Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Beacon Hill was a part of the City of Gloucester until it was amalgamated with the new city of Ottawa in 2001. Beacon Hill is a primarily residential area, built in the 1960s and '70s.
