Ottawa-Glandorf High School, is a secondary school and only high school part of the Ottawa-Glandorf Local School District. The school is the largest in Putnam County. The school serves students who are in grades 9 through 12 from Glandorf and Ottawa as well as parts of Greensburg, Liberty, Ottawa, Pleasant and Union Townships. Ottawa-Glandorf High School was designated "Excellent" or "Excellent with Distinction" (the highest designation given) by the Ohio Department of Education during the last 10 consecutive school years. The district met 24 of 24 state indicators with a 100% graduation rate in 2013. Athletics Ottawa-Glandorf is a member of the Western Buckeye League. They are the only school in the county not part of the Putnam County League. Ottawa is a village (United States)#Ohio, village and the county seat of Putnam County, Ohio, United States. It is located about southwest of Toledo, Ohio, Toledo. The population is 4,456 as of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History The region was long inhabited by the Iroquoian-speaking Wyandot tribe, Wyandot and Algonquian-speaking Ottawa tribe, Ottawa tribes, who settled along the Blanchard River. In 1792 President George Washington sent Major Alexander Truman, his servant William Lynch, and guide/interpreter William Smalley on a peace mission to the tribes. Truman and Lynch were killed; the date of their deaths was apparently prior to April 20, 1792, at Lower Tawa Town, an Ottawa village. Garaway Local School District is an Ohio consolidated public school district serving the towns of Sugarcreek, Baltic, Ragersville, Dundee, Fiat and Barrs Mills. Garaway is a member of the Inter-Valley Conference (IVC) along with East Canton, Hiland, Malvern, Newcomerstown, Ridgewood, Sandy Valley, Strasburg and Tuscarawas Central Catholic. Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School is a private, co-educational, center-city, Catholic high school. It is located in downtown Dayton, in the U.S. state of Ohio, and is owned and operated by the Society of Mary and the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
