Osvajači ( sr-cyr, Освајачи; trans. ''The Conquerors'') are a Serbian and SFRY, Yugoslav hard rock band formed in Kragujevac in 1990. Formed by vocalist Zvonko Pantović, Zvonko Pantović "Čipi", guitarist Dragan Urošević, bass guitarist Saša Popović and drummer Miša Raca, the band was soon joined by veteran keyboardist Laza Ristovski. The band's debut album, ''Krv i led'', was released in 1991 and presented the band with their glam metal sound. Following their second studio release, the 1995 album ''Sam (Osvajači album), Sam'', recorded with new keyboardist, Nebojša Jakovljević, and new bassist, Dejan Dačović, the band split up in 1997. The group reached the peak of popularity in the 1970s when it was one of the most notable acts of the yu rock, former Yugoslav rock scene. The band's leader, guitarist Radomir Mihailović, nicknamed Točak ("The Wheel"), is considered one of the most influential guitarists on the former Yugoslav rock scene. Bane Jelić (born 11 June 1967), is a Serbian rock musician, painter, and writer. Early life Bane Jelic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. At the age of ten he started to play the acoustic guitar, and for his twelfth birthday he received an electrical guitar and an amplifier. According to his own words, he spent, on average, ten hours every day. Music career When Jelic was only 12 years old, he created his first musical band, ''The Flying Cans'', with his friends. The band played both Yugoslav and foreign songs. Next year, in 1980, he joined a heavy metal band Apocalypse, and performed in 1981 alongside older musicians at a large venue in Belgrade's Tašmajdan pool.
