Ostrowite, Golub-Dobrzyń County
Ostrowite is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Golub-Dobrzyń, within Golub-Dobrzyń County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies north-west of Golub-Dobrzyń and north-east of Toruń Toruń is a city on the Vistula River in north-central Poland and a World Heritage Sites of Poland, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its population was 196,935 as of December 2021. Previously, it was the capital of the Toruń Voivodeship (1975–199 .... History Early history and the church In 1875 Ostrowite had fifty buildings, including six made of brick and wood - the rest made of the clay, all with thatched roofs. The large church was one of its most important buildings, having been restored in 1739 and 1870. In the early 1900s, however, it was demolished. Only the temple stands today.
