Osokorivka (, ) is a village in Beryslav Raion, Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine. Raion
A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as ' district' in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast. Beryslav Raion
Beryslav Raion () is one of the five administrative raions (a ''district'') of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative center is located in the city of Beryslav. Its population was 55,976 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Novovorontsovka Settlement Hromada
Novovorontsovka (; ) is a rural settlement in Beryslav Raion, Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Novovorontsovka settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Novovorontsovka is located on the right bank of the former Kakhovka Reservoir, an artificial reservoir on the Dnieper. It has a population of History The settlement is first mentioned in written sources in 1795 as Mykolaivka (). At the time, it was part of Kherson uyezd of the Russian Empire. As of 1799, it had a population of 524 people. The land belonged to a major general Von Stahl. In 1821, the settlement was bought by Russian nobleman and field marshal Mikhail Vorontsov, who renamed the settlement ''Novovorontsovka'' after his own surname. In Ukraine, a hromada () is the main type of municipality and the third level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, local self-government in Ukraine. Kherson Watermelon Monument
The Kherson Watermelon Monument, also known as the "Gifts of Kherson Oblast" Memorial (), is an art exhibition in Kherson Oblast in Ukraine dedicated to the importance of watermelon production to the local economy. The monument was built in 1988, and is located at the villgae of Osokorivka. It is the first and largest watermelon memorial in Ukraine. Khersonsky Uyezd
The Kherson uezd was a county (''uezd'') of the Kherson Governorate of the Russian Empire, and then of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Ukrainian SSR until the administrative reform of 1923.
