Óscar Rendoll Gómez (born 26 August 1916) was a Chilean Association football, football manager. He has been one of the five Chileans who have managed the Panama national football team, Panama national team along with Óscar Suman (1949), Néstor Valdés (1969), Hugo Tassara (1972–1973) and Renato Panay (1976–1977). Career Born in Punta Arenas, Chile, Rendoll Gómez played football at amateur level in local clubs such as Deportivo Español. Óscar "Huaqui" Gómez Sánchez (*Lima, 1934 - †Lima, 4 March 2008) was a Peruvian association football, football player. Club career Gómez Sánchez was a forward and played for Alianza Lima, where he won the Primera División Peruana three times. He also played for Club Atlético River Plate, River Plate and Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata in the Primera División Argentina. International career Gómez Sánchez made 26 appearances and scored 14 goals for the senior Peru national football team from 1953 to 1959. He played at the South American Championship 1959 (Argentina), South American Championship 1959 and a qualifying match for the 1958 FIFA World Cup. Etymology The name is derived from two elements in Irish: the first, ''os'', means "deer"; the second element, ''car'', means "loving" or "friend", thus "deer-loving one" or "friend of deer". The name is borne by a character in Irish mythology—Oscar, grandson of Fionn Mac Cumhaill, and refers to his descent from his grandmother, Sadhbh, who was enchanted into the form of a deer. Less likely, it is derived from Norse-Irish ''Osgar'' "god's spear," from ''gar'' "spear" + ''os'' "god".
