Orléans West-Innes Ward (Ward 2) is a city Ward (subnational entity), ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the eastern end of the city, containing the western half of Orleans, Ontario, Orleans subdivision plus the community of Blackburn Hamlet, Ontario, Blackburn Hamlet. The ward is represented on Ottawa City Council by Laura Dudas. Within Orleans, it contains the neighbourhoods of Hiawatha Park, Convent Glen, Orleans Wood, Orléans Village, Chapel Hill, Ottawa, Chapel Hill and Orleans South. History From 1994 to 2022, the ward included the community of Blackburn Hamlet, Ontario, Blackburn Hamlet as well as the neighbourhoods of Orléans Village, Châteauneuf, Ottawa, Châteauneuf and Chapel Hill, Ottawa, Chapel Hill in Orléans, Ontario, Orléans. Chapel Hill, Ottawa
Chapel Hill is a neighbourhood in the east end Ottawa, Ontario, Canada within the community of Orleans. It is considered an outer-suburb of Ottawa, and before the 2001 amalgamation of the city of Ottawa, it was part of the former City of Gloucester. Chapel Hill consists of mostly single family homes situated next to the National Capital Commission (NCC) Greenbelt and surrounding rural areas. The area is divided into two parts by Innes Road: Chapel Hill North and Chapel Hill South. The northern half is represented by the Chapel Hill North Community Association, while the southern half is represented by the Chapel Hill South Community Association. The boundaries of Chapel Hill North are St. Joseph Blvd (north), Boyer Rd (east), Innes Rd (south) and the greenbelt (west). Rainer Bloess
Rainer Bloess was a member of Ottawa City Council. He represents Innes Ward (Ward 2), covering some of the city's eastern suburbs. Bloess was originally a member of the city council of Gloucester, being first elected to that council in 1994 on a cost-cutting platform. When Gloucester was merged into Ottawa in 2000 he ran for Ottawa city council and was elected with a majority of the vote, defeating Ed Campbell and two other candidates. He was subsequently re-elected in 2003, 2006, and 2010. Bloess is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. In 2009, he lost to David Bertschi for the Liberal nomination in Ottawa—Orléans for the 2011 federal election.
