Opéra De Lyon
The Opéra de Lyon (also known as Opéra Nouvel, formerly Grand Théâtre) in Lyon, France, is the home of the Opéra National de Lyon. The original opera house was re-designed by the distinguished French architect, Jean Nouvel between 1985 and 1993 in association with the agency of scenography Ducks scéno, dUCKS scéno and the acoustician Peutz. Serge Dorny was appointed general director in 2003. History In 1756, one of the first opera houses created inside an existing freestanding building was opened in Lyon. It was designed by Jacques-Germain Soufflot, the architect of the Panthéon in Paris, and known as the Grand Théâtre. By early in the following century it was found to be too small, and Antoine-Marie Chenavard and Jean-Marie Pollet erected the new Opéra de Lyon which opened on July 1, 1831. Louis Langrée
Louis Langrée (born 11 January 1961) is a French conductor. He is the son of organist and theorist Alain Langrée. Biography Early years Langrée studied at the Strasbourg Conservatory, but had no formal academic training in conducting. He began his career as a vocal coach and assistant at the Opéra National de Lyon, from 1983 to 1986. He then worked as an assistant conductor at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, and held a comparable post with the Bayreuth Festival. From 1989 to 1992, he was an assistant conductor with l'Orchestre de Paris. Daniele Rustioni (born 1983) is an Italian conductor. Biography Rustioni was born in Milan, and studied piano, organ, and composition at the Milan Conservatory. He sang in the boys choir of the Teatro alla Scala in his youth. He studied cello for 3 years, and later piano and organ. Rustioni studied conducting under Gilberto Serembe at the Milan Conservatory and under Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana. Whilst at the Royal Academy of Music in London, his mentors included Gianandrea Noseda, who gave him the opportunity to make his debut as a conductor with the orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin in 2007. For 2008–2009, Rustioni was a Jette Parker Young Artist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Kirill Garrievich Petrenko (, Latin script: ; born 11 February 1972) is a Russian-Austrian conductor. He is chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. Early life Petrenko was born in Omsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, to a violinist father and musicologist mother. He is of Jewish heritage, but grew up without much connection to or knowledge of the Jewish religion. His father was born in Lviv (now in Ukraine). Emmanuel Krivine (born 7 May 1947, Grenoble) is a French conductor. Biography The son of a Polish mother and a Russian father, Krivine studied the violin as a youth. He was a winner of the ''Premier Prix'' at the Paris Conservatoire, at age 16. He later studied at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. He stopped playing the violin after a car accident in 1981. Inspired by a meeting with Karl Böhm, Krivine began to develop an interest in conducting.
