The ''Chronica Boemorum'' (Chronicle of the Czechs, or Bohemians) is the first Latin chronicle in which the history of the Czech lands has been consistently and relatively fully described. It was written in 1119–1125 by Cosmas of Prague. The manuscript includes information about historical events in Czech land from ancient times to the first quarter of the 12th century. At the same time, the Chronicle is not limited to Czech national historiography, also revealing the relationship between various European states during the 10th–12th centuries. The author of the chronicle had been known as the dean of the chapter of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague Cosmas of Prague. The Church of the Nativity () is a Roman Catholic church in Opočno in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It is located on František Kupka, Kupkovo Square. Built in the 17th century, it was used until 1950 as a conventual church of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, Capuchin Convent of Opočno. Today, it is one of the two active Catholic churches in Opočno, together with the parish Holy Trinity Church, Opočno, Church of the Holy Trinity near Opočno Castle. History The Capuchins decided to establish a new convent in Opočno in 1673. The Capuchin provincial superior Martinus Freibergensis therefore asked the owner of Opočno dominion for his support. Holy Trinity Church, Opočno
Church of the Holy Trinity () is a Roman Catholic parish church in Opočno in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. History The Church of the Holy Trinity in Opočno was built in its present form with three naves and groin vaults supported by 10 pillars in 1567. In that time the owner of Opočno Vilém Trčka of Lípa decided to rebuild his residence in Opočno Castle as well as the adjoining Chapel of St. Andrew. The Gothic chapel was extended and converted into a Renaissance church. Although the new church was built in the heyday of the Renaissance style in Bohemia, the ceiling of the church still resembles the older Gothic architecture. On the other hand, the stone galleries with embossed decorations inside the church provide evidence for a strong influence of Italian Renaissance architecture.
