One Magic
1Magic (also known as One Magic) was a subscription-based digital satellite television general entertainment channel created by M-Net and MultiChoice for DStv. It is one of the resultant channels from the M-Net series channel created in 2000. History The channel was launched in 18 September 2000, as M-Net Series, as a sister channel to the original M-Net channel. On 9 July 2013, this channel was split into three, namely M-Net Series Showcase, which was the premium series channel which had new series releases, M-Net Series Reality broadcast talk shows and other reality media and M-Net Series Zone which served as a rerun channel, and featured previous seasons of shows and back-to-back marathon blocks. In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Each of these lines contributes to the overall detail and clarity of the image. The letter "i" stands for Interlaced video, interlaced. This is a technique where the image is not displayed all at once. Instead, the frame is split into two fields. Channel O is a South Africa–based music channel that started transmission in 1997. Its main concept is African music in Africa and the diaspora. Channel O can be accessed via DStv, a satellite pay TV service for pan-African households. The channel broadcasts a variety of music videos. V Entertainment was an entertainment news series similar to E! News on American Broadcasting Channel E! Entertainment. Programme content Developed by M-Net, broadcasting simultaneously on Vuzu and Vuzu Amp (a more premium version of Vuzu) is South Africa's solution to E! News. V Entertainment covers local and international celebrities. The format for V Entertainment is largely based on the format used on E! News although its broadcasts are 30 minutes shorter in a smaller production studio. It broadcasts Mondays to Fridays at 18:00 (CAT) on both Vuzu & Vuzu Amp with a repeat at 23:00 (CAT) on Vuzu and 22:30 (CAT) on Vuzu Amp. Somizi Buyani Mhlongo (born 23 December 1972) is a South African media personality, actor and socialite. In 1992, he appeared on the musical and political film, '' Sarafina!'' which gained him prominence. Pearl Magic is a Ugandan television station owned by MultiChoice Uganda' DStv. The station was launched in October 2018 with its headquarters and studios at the MultiChoice Uganda headquarters in Kololo Kampala and only broadcasts through DStv and GOtv to audiences around Africa.
