On A Mission (Trick Pony Album)
''On a Mission'' is the second studio album by American country music group Trick Pony. It was released on November 5, 2002, via Warner Bros. Nashville; it was their final release for the label before being dropped in 2003 and signing to Asylum-Curb Records. Chuck Howard produced the album. The album was favorably reviewed, although it was seen as interchangeable from their eponymous debut album. Two singles in total were released, the title track and "A Boy Like You". While the former, which was co-written by David Lee Murphy, peaked within the top-20 on the US Hot Country Songs chart, the latter became their first single to miss the top-40 of the chart. The album was also not as successful as their debut, peaking at number 13 on the Top Country Albums, but spending less weeks in total. Trick Pony
Trick Pony was an American country music group from Nashville, Tennessee. It was formed in 1999 by Heidi Newfield (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Keith Burns (lead guitar, vocals), and Ira Dean (bass guitar, vocals). They recorded three studio albums: '' Trick Pony'', '' On a Mission'', and '' R.I.D.E.'', released in 2001, 2002, and 2005. These albums produced eight singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart, including four Top 20 hits: " Pour Me", "On a Night like This", " Just What I Do", and "On a Mission". In 2006, Newfield departed for a solo career and Aubrey Collins replaced her as lead vocalist. The group disbanded after Collins and Dean left in 2007 and 2008. John Bush Shinn III (February 17, 1935October 16, 2020) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and musician. Alfred William "Sonny" LeMaire (born September 16, 1947) is an American country music artist. LeMaire is best known as being the bass guitarist of the band Exile, a role that he first held in 1977. After lead singer J. P. Pennington quit the band in 1989, LeMaire alternated with Paul Martin on lead vocals, including the singles " Nobody's Talking" and " Yet". Following Exile's initial 1993 disbanding, LeMaire played bass for Burnin' Daylight in the mid-nineties, reuniting permanently with his "Kiss You All Over" bandmates in 2008. Tom Curtis Shapiro (born in Kansas City, Missouri) is an American songwriter and occasional record producer, known primarily for his work in country music. To date, he holds four Country Songwriter of the Year awards from Broadcast Music Incorporated, as well as the Songwriter of the Decade award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Terry Radigan is an American country music singer. She has recorded one unreleased album for Asylum Records, and one album for Vanguard Records. Biography Radigan was born in Brooklyn, New York. At age four, she was raised by her grandparents after her mother was diagnosed with cancer. In high school, Radigan formed her own band and performed in local clubs. Before beginning her country career, Radigan was guitarist in the band Grace Pool. She released her debut single "Half a Million Teardrops" via Asylum Records in March 1995. Kenneth S. Greenberg is an American guitarist, songwriter, producer, and session musician. He is known for bringing a rock-and-roll sensibility to Nashville recording sessions. Biography Greenberg was born in Cleveland, Ohio but attended junior high and high school in Louisville, Kentucky.
