Olympiacos Men's Volleyball (, ), commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos SFP, is the men's professional volleyball department of the major Greek multi-sport club, Olympiacos SFP, based in Piraeus, Attica. The department was founded in 1926 and their home ground is the Melina Merkouri Indoor Hall in Agios Ioannis Rentis, Piraeus. Olympiacos is the most successful club in Greek volleyball history, having won 32 Greek Volley League titles, 19 Cups, 7 League Cups, all national records, and 3 Super Cups. They are the only volleyball team in Greece to have won a European title, having actually won 3 European titles, 2 CEV Cups in 1996 and 2005 and 1 CEV Challenge Cup in 2023. The European Volleyball Confederation ( or ''CEV'') is the continental sports governing body, governing body for the sports of volleyball, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and snow volleyball in Europe. Georgios Ntrakovits
Georgios Dragovits (; born ) is a retired Greek male volleyball player. He was part of the Greece men's national volleyball team that won the bronze medal at the 1987 European Championship in Belgium. He was also part of the Greek team at the 1994 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Greece and the 2002 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Argentina. Marios Giourdas
Marios Giourdas (sometimes written as Gkiourdas) (Greek: Μάριος Γκιούρδας; born 2 March 1973) is a Greek male former volleyball player. He was part of the Greece men's national volleyball team. He competed with the national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. At club level, he played most notably for Olympiacos, Parma and Iraklis. Giourdas is also a firefighter in Athens. In 2016, at a fire near Pireaus, he, along with other firefighters, saved nine people and a baby. The 2017–18 CEV Women's Challenge Cup was the 38th edition of the European CEV Women's Challenge Cup, Challenge Cup volleyball club tournament, the former "CEV Cup". Format The tournament is played on a Knockout tournament, knockout format, with 37 teams participating. Initially 10 teams play a qualification round with the 5 winners advancing to the main phase. On 14 June 2017, a drawing of lots in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, determined the team's pairing for each match. Each team plays a home and an away match with result points awarded for each leg (3 points for 3–0 or 3–1 wins, 2 points for 3–2 win, 1 point for 2–3 loss). FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship
The FIVB Men's Volleyball Club World Championship is an international men's club volleyball competition organised by the ''Fédération Internationale de Volleyball'' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The competition was first contested in 1989 in Italy. It was not held between 1993 and 2008, but since 2009, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar and Brazil except in 2017 and 2018 where both hosted by Poland. The current champions are Brazil's Sada Cruzeiro, who defeated Italy's Trentino Itas (3–1) in the final of the 2024 and won their fifth title of the competition. Italian teams have been the most successful, with twelve titles, and in all editions but 2015, at least one Italian team take part in the event.
