Oltenița
Oltenița () is a Municipiu, city in Călărași County, Muntenia, Romania, on the left bank of the river Argeș (river), Argeș, where its waters flow into the Danube. Geography The city is located in the southwestern part of the county; it stands across the Danube from the Bulgarian city of Tutrakan. The Roads in Romania, national road DN4 connects Oltenița to Bucharest, to the northwest. Road connects it to the county seat, Călărași, to the east, and road connects it to Giurgiu, to the west. The Oltenița train station, located near the intersection of those three roads, serves the Căile Ferate Române, CFR Căile Ferate Române Line 800, Line 801, which connects the city to Bucharest (Titan Sud and Obor stations). CSM Oltenița
Club Sportiv Municipal Oltenița, commonly known as CSM Oltenița, or simply Oltenița (), is a professional Romanian Association football, football club based in Oltenița, Călărași County. The team was founded as ''Șantierul Naval Oltenița'' in 1948 and played between 1965 and 1992 in the Liga II and Liga III. After 1992 the team had only sporadic appearances in the third league, before being declared bankrupt at the end of the 2004–05 season. For 7 years football has disappeared from the city, and the stadium has also become a ruin. In 2011 the renovations of the stadium started and after one year the club was re-founded, this time as CSM Oltenița. Stadionul Municipal (Oltenița)
Stadionul Municipal is a multi-purpose stadium in Oltenița, Romania. It is currently used mostly for football matches, is the home ground of CSM Oltenița and holds 2,500 people. The stadium had in the past a capacity of 10,000 people, but after the period in which was abandoned much of it was irreparably destroyed. In 2011 the stadium was revived, but the capacity was reduced at only 2,500 and from 2014 was also bought by Municipality of Oltenița from the company that took over the assets of the Oltenița shipyard after its bankruptcy. Between 1994 and 2014 it was known as ''Stadionul Navol''. Battle Of Oltenița
The battle of Oltenița (or Oltenitza) was fought on 4 November 1853 and was the first engagement of the Crimean War. In this battle an Ottoman army under the command of Omar Pasha was defending its fortified positions from the Russian forces led by General Peter Dannenberg, until the Russians were ordered to withdraw.Engels, pp.516-522. The Argeș () is a river in Southern Romania, a left tributary of the Danube. It is long, and its basin area is . Its source is in the Făgăraș Mountains, in the Southern Carpathians and it flows into the Danube at Oltenița. Its average discharge at the mouth is . The main city on the Argeș is Pitești. Upstream, it is retained by the Vidraru Dam, which has created Lake Vidraru. Its upper course, upstream of Lake Vidraru, is also called ''Capra''. Tutrakan ( , , ) is a town in northeastern Bulgaria, an administrative centre of the homonymous municipality, part of Silistra Province.
