Oliver Kostić
Oliver Kostić ( sr-cyr, Оливер Костић; born 20 February 1973) is a Serbian professional basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the Serbia national team. Coaching career Between 2005 and 2010, Kostić was an assistant coach for Lottomatica Roma (Italy), Dynamo Moscow (Russia), and Crvena zvezda (Serbia); all under head coach Svetislav Pešić. In April 2018, when Montenegrin coach Dejan Radonjić took over the Bayern Munich first team, Kostić advanced into his coaching team. On 7 January 2020, Bayern Munich parted ways with Dejan Radonjić and appointed Kostić as the new head coach for the rest of the 2019–20 season. On 7 June 2023, Kostić was announced as the head coach for Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). On 4 June 2024, Kostić was named LKL Coach of the Year after leading Juventus to a fourth place finish in the regular season. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. Lietuvos Krepšinio Lyga
Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL; ), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 10 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including the top-tier level EuroLeague. On April 22, 1993, the Lietuvos krepšinio asociacija (LKA; ) was founded. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was built on the foundation of the LKA. Former basketball player Šarūnas Marčiulionis is named as the founder of the league. EuroBasket 2022
The EuroBasket 2022 was the 41st edition of the EuroBasket championship organized by FIBA Europe. It was the first since it was agreed it would take place every four years, with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. It was originally scheduled to take place between 2 and 19 September 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to 2021, it was postponed to September 2022. Like the previous two editions, the tournament was co-hosted by four countries. Games in the group stage were held in the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, and Italy. The knock-out phase was played in Berlin, Germany. The Serbia men's national basketball team () represents Serbia in international men's basketball competition, and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia. Serbia is currently ranked second in the FIBA Men's World Ranking, FIBA World Ranking. Dejan Radonjić
Dejan Radonjić ( sr-cyr, Дејан Радоњић; born 2 February 1970) is a Montenegrin professional basketball coach and former basketball player. He was most recently the head coach for Bahçeşehir Koleji of the BSL. Standing at , he played in the point guard position for Lovćen, Budućnost, Profikolor, FMP Železnik, and NIS Vojvodina. He won three YUBA League championships and a Yugoslav Cup with Budućnost. He retired as a player with NIS Vojvodina in 2004. Radonjić became the head coach for Budućnost in 2005. Until 2012, he won seven consecutive Montenegrin League championships and six consecutive Montenegrin Cup tournaments with Budućnost. In 2013, Radonjić joined Serbian team Crvena zvezda. Svetislav "Kari" Pešić ( sr-Cyrl, Светислав "Кари" Пешић; born 28 August 1949) is a Serbian professional basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Serbia men's national team. Playing career During his club playing career, Pešić played with Pirot (1964–1967), Partizan (1967–1971), and Bosna (1971–1979). As a member of Bosna, he won a Yugoslav Cup and a Yugoslav League championship, in 1978. Also, he won the FIBA European Champions Cup (EuroLeague) championship in 1979 with Bosna. The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA Europe's second level competition. LKF Cup
The LKF Cup was an annual national domestic cup competition for Lithuanian professional basketball teams. It was organised by the Lithuanian Basketball Federation (Lietuvos Krepšinio Federacija - LKF). The competition's full name was Lietuvos Krepšinio Federacija Taurė ( English: Lithuanian Basketball Federation Cup). Before 2007, the LKF Cup wasn't held regularly, but after that, its finals were organised every January, February, or March. Between 2007 and 2014, the competition was played between teams from the LKL, the NKL, and the RKL. In 2015, the LKF decided to change the competition format, and it was then played between the top eight qualified teams of the LKL, after the first half of the season.
