Olga Kálmán
Olga Kálmán (born 23 February 1968) is a politically independent Hungarian news editor, television host, left-wing politician, member of parliament, and author. Between 2003 and 2016, she was the host of ATV's ''Straight Talk'' (Egyenes Beszéd). Kálmán is author of the book ''Straight Talk''. She has received the János Déri award for lifetime achievement and the Hungarian Spokesman Organization's award. In 2019, Kálmán was announced as the candidate of the Democratic Coalition for the second round of the primaries for the 2019 Budapest mayoral election. Her opponents were Gergely Karácsony of Dialogue for Hungary and the entrepreneur Gábor Kerpel-Fronius ( hu) of Momentum. ATV (Hungary)
ATV (formerly known as Magyar ATV) is the first Hungarian private TV channel, broadcasting continuously since 1990, with a focus on news, public life, and current events. Licensed as a partially public service commercial television station, it is obliged to broadcast public interest programs (news, current affairs, sports, religion) 50% of the time. Because of this special status, the channel is eligible to apply for grants from the government and the radio and television authority. As of 2003 the owner of the channel is the Hungarian Faith Church. It is the first private TV channel in Hungary, being established in late 1989 and airing ever since. Democratic Coalition (Hungary)
The Democratic Coalition ( , DK ) is a social democratic and social-liberal political party in Hungary led by former Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány. Founded in 2010 as a faction within the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP), the Democratic Coalition split from the MSZP on 22 October 2011 and became a separate party. It has fifteen MPs in the National Assembly and two MEPs in the European Parliament. 2019 Budapest Mayoral Election
The 2019 Budapest mayoral election was held on 13 October 2019 to elect the Mayor of Budapest (''főpolgármester''). On the same day, local elections were also held throughout Hungary, including the districts of Budapest which will determine the composition of the General Assembly. The election is run using a first-past-the-post voting system. The winner of the election will serve for a term of five years. Gergely Szilveszter Karácsony (; born 11 June 1975) is a Hungarian politician, sociologist, political scientist, activist and current Mayor of Budapest. He previously served as member of the National Assembly (MP) from 2010 to 2014 and Mayor of Zugló from 2014 to 2019. Profession Karácsony worked for the ''Medián'' market and public opinion research company as a research manager. He became Director of Research in 2007. Momentum Movement
Momentum Movement (, Momentum) is a centrist Hungarian political party founded in March 2017. It came to national prominence as a political association in January 2017 after organizing a petition about the Budapest bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics, calling for a public referendum on the matter. The petition, which gathered over 266,151 signatures, was successful, but the government cancelled the Olympic bid before a referendum could have been held. After its establishment as a political party, Momentum quickly built a national following, and presently has approximately 4,000 members. István Tarlós (; 26 May 1948) is a Hungarian politician who served as the mayor of Budapest from 2010 to 2019. He also served as the mayor of the 3rd district of the city (Óbuda-Békásmegyer) between 1990 and 2006 as an independent candidate.
