Olden is a village and urban area in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. Olden is located at the mouth of the Oldeelva river at the northern end of the Oldedalen valley on the southern shore of the Nordfjorden (Sogn og Fjordane), Nordfjorden. It is located about southwest of the village of Loen, Norway, Loen, about a drive southeast of the municipal center of Stryn (village), Stryn, and about east of the village of Innvik (village), Innvik. Rune Skarstein
Rune Skarstein (born 7 April 1940) is a Norwegian radical economist employed at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. Skarstein was born on 7 April 1940 in the village of Olden in Nordfjord in Western Norway. He graduated as a chartered engineer at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now part of NTNU), with an emphasis on construction and building. He continued his education and obtained a PhD in social economy in 1974. He has worked at CMI in Bergen, later in Tanzania, and since 1980 he has worked for the University of Trondheim (UNiT) which is now part of NTNU. Svein Lundevall
Svein Lundevall (born 28 May 1944) is a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Oslo and grew up in Hermansverk and Førde. He completed his secondary education in Sandane. He studied at the University of Oslo and Lund University, and took the cand.polit. degree in 1975. He worked in the Norwegian Ministry of Finance from 1971 to 1977. In 1977, he became the chief administrative officer (''fylkesrådmann'') of Sogn og Fjordane County Municipality. He held the position for twenty years, until 1997. He later worked as a consultant. In 1993, he applied unsuccessfully, for the position as County Governor of Sogn og Fjordane. After resigning as chief administrative officer, he applied unsuccessfully for the positions of chief administrative officer in Porsgrunn, chief administrative officer in Vindafjord, and director of Innlandet health trust. Olden Church ( no, Olden kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stryn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Olden on the north end of the Oldedalen valley. It is the church for the Olden parish which is part of the Nordfjord prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The red, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1934 using plans drawn up by the architect Daniel J. Muri. The church seats about 500 people. History For centuries, the Old Olden Church (then known simply as the Olden Church) was the church for the Oldedalen valley.
