Okha Airport (), also known as Novostroyka Airport is an airport in Okha, Russia Russia, or the Russian Federation, is a country spanning Eastern Europe and North Asia. Okha () is a town and the administrative center of Okhinsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia. Population: Geography Okha is located on the east coast of the far north of Sakhalin island, just south of the isthmus of the Schmidt Peninsula, approximately north of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, near the shoreline of the Sea of Okhotsk. History It was founded shortly after the discovery of petroleum in the area in 1880, initially under the name ''Okhe''. The name is derived from an Ainu word meaning ''Bad Water''. Industrial exploitation of the petroleum reserves began in 1923, during the Japanese occupation of Sakhalin from 1920 to 1925. During this time the town was called or depending on Kanji used. Town status was granted to it in 1938. Khabarovsk Novy Airport () is an airport located at the eastern part of Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Krai, Russia. Khabarovsk Novy Airport was the main hub for the Russian airline Dalavia, which was shut down by the government due to large debts. Vladivostok Air replaced the role of Dalavia, and Khabarovsk was "upgraded" into a secondary hub for Vladivostok Air. Vladivostok Air was later merged into Aurora. In 2015, Khabarovsk Novy International Airport carried 1,821,694 passengers. Aurora () is a Russian airline headquartered in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Sakhalin Oblast. It operates domestic and international flights in the Russian Far East region. It is named after the Russian cruiser Aurora. It is currently banned from flying into the EU like all other Russian airlines. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk International Airport (, ), also called Khomutovo International Airport (), is an international airport in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, on the Russian island of Sakhalin. The airport was established in 1945 as a military airfield. With currently one 3,400 m concrete runway, two passenger terminals, two cargo terminals and 16 aircraft stands, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk International Airport is the largest airport in Sakhalin Oblast. The airport opened a new terminal in August 2023. The airport is also building a second concrete runway that should be finished by 2026 and a 4-star hotel.
