Odal (SS-rune)
Odal or Othala, sometimes called Winged Odal or Winged Othala, is a Nazi symbolism, Nazi symbol in the shape of an SS-rune, used by the Nazi Germany, Nazi German ''Schutzstaffel'' (''SS''), during the 1930s and -40s, to symbolize several values of central importance to Nazi ideology, such as kinship, family and blood ties, etc. It's based on the historical Runes, rune of the same name, Othala (ᛟ), a writing character of the late Iron Age Germanic peoples (Omega Ω based), but often modified with serifs, or "wings" (also called "feet, hooks, heels" etc). During World War II, it was used by, among others, 7th SS Volunteer Mountain Division Prinz Eugen och Volunteer Legion Netherlands, as well as the SS Race and Settlement Main Office, which was responsible for maintaining the racial purity of the SS. Pseudo-runes
Pseudo-runes are letters that look like Germanic runes but are not true ancient runes. The term is mostly used of incised characters that are intended to imitate runes, often visually or symbolically, sometimes even with no linguistic content, but it can also be used to describe characters of other written languages which resemble runes, for example: Old Turkic script, Old Hungarian script, Old Italic scripts. Wiking-Jugend
The "Wiking-Jugend" (WJ, "Viking youth") was a German Neo-Nazi organization modeled on the Hitlerjugend. Wiking Youth emerged in 1952 from a merger of several German right-wing extremist youth groups. In 1994 it was banned by the Federal Ministry of the Interior. At that time it had 400 to 500 members and was considered the largest Neo-Nazi youth organization in Germany. The Elder Futhark (or Fuþark, ), also known as the Older Futhark, Old Futhark, or Germanic Futhark, is the oldest form of the runic alphabets. The association of Nazism with occultism occurs in a wide range of theories, speculation, and research into the origins of Nazism and into Nazism's possible relationship with various occult traditions. Guido Karl Anton List (5 October 1848 – 17 May 1919), better known as Guido von List, was an Austrian occultist, journalist, playwright, and novelist.
