Telesistema Mexicano was the predecessor of Televisa. Telesistema Mexicano was a television alliance made up of the independently owned television flagship stations XEW-TV, XEW Canal 2, XHTV-TV, XHTV Canal 4, and XHGC-TV, XHGC Canal 5 in Mexico, Distrito Federal. History Telesistema Mexicano was founded in 1955 when Mexico, Distrito Federal television stations XEW-TV, XEW Canal 2 owned by Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta, XHTV-TV, XHTV Canal 4 owned by Rómulo O'Farrill, XHGC-TV, XHGC Canal 5 owned by Guillermo González Camarena, and capital and expertise from Ernesto Barrientos Ventosa merged to form an alliance. Ofelia Guilmáin
Ofelia Guilmáin (17 November 1921 – 14 January 2005) was a Spanish actress. She is also the mother of actors Juan Ferrara and Lucía Guilmáin. Two of her grandchildren, sons of Ferrara, Mauricio Bonet, Mauricio and Juan Carlos Bonet, are also actors. Life and career Ofelia Guilmáin was born in Madrid, Spain. She was part of the Guerrillas of Theater groups in Spain set up by the Second Spanish Republic, republican government. When Francisco Franco came to power, she left her country as did many other artists and intellectuals. She arrived with her family in Mexico in 1939 and debuted in theater the following year in the play ''Mujeres''. In 1940, she made her first film ''El capitán estrella'' and married Lucilo Gutiérrez next year. She retired from show business for a decade and became a Mexican citizen in 1952. Guadalupe Bracho Pérez-Gavilán (; 16 April 1903 – 11 November 1987), known professionally as Andrea Palma, was a Mexican actress. She was considered the first major female star of the Cinema of Mexico, Mexican cinema after her role in the Mexican film ''The Woman of the Port (1934 film), La Mujer del Puerto'' (1934). Early life Guadalupe Bracho Pérez-Gavilán was one of eleven children of Julio Bracho Zuloaga, born in Durango, a wealthy land and textile factory owner who lost all his possessions during the Mexican Revolution. One of her brothers was the film director Julio Bracho. Her cousins were the Hollywood (film industry), Hollywood actors Ramon Novarro and Dolores del Río.
