Objectives Resolution
The Objectives Resolution () was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan, Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on 12 March 1949. The resolution proclaimed that the future constitution of Pakistan would not be modeled entirely on a European pattern, but on the ideology and democratic faith of Islam. The resolution, in its entirety, has been made part of the Constitution of Pakistan under Article 2A Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan presented it in the assembly on 7 March 1949. Out of 75 members of the assembly, 21 voted for opposing it. All the amendments proposed by minority members were rejected. Consequently, all ten of them voted against it. Constituent Assembly Of Pakistan
The Constituent Assembly of Pakistan was the supreme federal legislature of the Dominion of Pakistan. It was established in August 1947 with the primary tasks of framing Constitution of Pakistan of 1956, a constitution; and serving as an interim parliament. It was dissolved in March 1956 and succeeded by the Parliament of Pakistan. First Session The members were originally elected to the Constituent Assembly of India before they abdicated in the aftermath of the partition of India. Sris Chandra Chattopadhyaya (18731967) was a Bengali civil servant and politician from East Bengal. He was a Member of the 1st National Assembly of Pakistan as a representative of East Pakistan. Islam In Pakistan
Islam is the largest and the state religion of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan has over 231.69 million adherents of Islam (excluding the administrative territory of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan) making it the Islam by country#Countries, second-largest Muslim population. As much as 85-90% of the population follows Sunni Islam. Most Pakistanis, Pakistani Sunni Muslims belong to the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, which is represented by the Barelvi and Deobandi movement, Deobandi traditions. About 97% of Pakistanis are Muslims. The majority are Sunni Islam, Sunni (85-90%) while Shia Islam, Shias make up around 10-15%. Pakistan Movement
The Pakistan Movement was a religiopolitical and social movement that emerged in the early 20th century as part of a campaign that advocated the creation of an Islamic state in parts of what was then British Raj. It was rooted in the two-nation theory, which asserted that Islam in South Asia, Muslims from the subcontinent were fundamentally and irreconcilably distinct from Hinduism in South Asia, Hindus of the subcontinent (who formed the demographic majority) and would therefore require separate self-determination upon the Colonial India, Decolonisation of the subcontinent.
