Oakleigh Cannons
Oakleigh Cannons Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in the south-east Melbourne suburb Oakleigh. As of 2025, the club competes in the National Premier Leagues Victoria (NPL Victoria). History South Oakleigh Soccer Club was established by members of Oakleigh's Greek Australian community on 12 December 1972. The club soon changed its name to Oakleigh Soccer Club. In the 1970s and 1980s, the club steadily gained success by winning a number of Victorian Provisional, Metropolitan and State League divisional titles. The club won championships in both of its first two years of competition, taking out the Victorian District League East in 1973 and 1974. Oakleigh won its next title in 1978, when it took out the Victorian District League Division 1, winning promotion to the Victorian Provisional League Division 2, which it won in its first year in 1979, achieving promotion to Provisional League Division 1. Jack Edwards Reserve
Jack Edwards Reserve is an Australian soccer ground in Oakleigh, Victoria, Oakleigh, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. It is the home of Oakleigh Cannons. The ground has a single main stand with seating for approximately 500 patrons. An additional 500-seat grandstand, located at the opposite end of the pitch to the older stand, will be completed by September 2025 as part of a $14.7 million upgrade of the reserve. Jack Edwards Reserve has a capacity of 4,000. The ground is situated at 22 Edward Street, Oakleigh and is the site of football matches for the Oakleigh's senior men's, women's and junior teams, in the National Premier Leagues and Australia Cup. Lakeside Stadium is an Australian sports arena in the South Melbourne suburb of Albert Park. Comprising an athletics track and soccer stadium, it currently serves as the home ground and administrative base for association football club South Melbourne FC, Athletics Victoria, Athletics Australia, Victorian Institute of Sport and Australian Little Athletics. The Dockerty Cup is an annual association football single-elimination tournament, knock-out competition open to all Victorian clubs across the Australian soccer league system, Victorian football league system. The tournament is named after the former president of Football Federation Victoria Harry Dockerty. Since 2014 the Cup is also a qualifying competition for the FFA Cup, now known as the Australia Cup, where the four finalists enter the competition proper at the round of 32. Kenjok Athiu (born 5 August 1992) is a South Sudanese professional soccer player who plays as a forward for National Premier Leagues Victoria club Dandenong City and the South Sudan national football team.
