Oaklands Hunt Club
The Oaklands Hunt Club is an Australian fox hunting club located in the Greenvale, Victoria. History The club was established on 28 July 1888, after its inaugural hunt that day from the Inverness Hotel in Bulla. The club's pony club was formed in 1956 by club members who wanted to encourage their children and the children of local landowners to ride. For the modern pentathlon at the 1956 Summer Olympics, the club hosted the riding and cross-country running components. A group of unarmed followers, led by a "master of foxhounds" (or "master of hounds"), follow the hounds on foot or on horseback. Fox hunting with hounds, as a formalised activity, originated in England in the sixteenth century, in a form very similar to that practised until February 2005, when a law banning the activity in England and Wales came into force. Bulla, Victoria
Bulla is a town in Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Bulla recorded a population of 668 at the 2021 census. Bulla is located adjacent to the Melbourne metropolitan area. Deep Creek, a tributary of the Maribyrnong River, flows through the township.
