''Otis'' is a genus of bustard containing a single living species, the great bustard ''(Otis tarda)''. Several extinct species are known, including the recently described '' Otis hellenica'' from the Turolian of Greece. At , it was larger than its extant relative. The Otis Hotel, also known as the Hotel Indigo Spokane Downtown, is a historic five-story building in Spokane, Washington. It was designed by Arthur W. Cowley and Archibald G. Rigg, and built in 1911 for Dr. Joseph E. Gandy. With The single room occupancy (SRO) was first known as the Willard Hotel, and later through ownership changes as the Atlantic Hotel, the Earle Hotel, and then the Otis Hotel in 1956. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since October 2, 1998. The building is also listed as a contributing property to the NRHP's West Downtown Historic Transportation Corridor. Otis Peak is a mountain summit on the boundary shared by Grand County and Larimer County, in Colorado, United States. Description Otis Peak is set along the Continental Divide in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The mountain is situated within Rocky Mountain National Park and southwest of Estes Park. Precipitation runoff from the mountain drains chiefly into tributaries of Glacier Creek which in turn is a tributary of the Big Thompson River, and the lower west slope drains to Grand Lake via North Inlet. A portion of that water that arrives at Grand Lake is then diverted to the east side of the Continental Divide via the Alva B. Adams Tunnel which is bored under Otis Peak. Topographic relief is significant as the summit rises above Loch Vale in one mile. Otis is an unincorporated community in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States, a half mile north of Otis Junction on Oregon Route 18. It is near the Salmon River. Otis post office was established in 1900 and was named after Otis Thompson, nephew of Archibald S. Thompson, the postmaster. U.S. Route 101 used to pass through Otis until a curvy and hilly section of road was rerouted in the 1960s. Otis Junction is at the intersection of the former terminus of Oregon Route 18 and the former alignment of U.S. 101. The Sitka Center for Art and Ecology has an Otis mailing address but is located nearer to the coast on Cascade Head. The Otis ZIP code, 97368, also covers the community of Rose Lodge.
